In case you haven't noticed, I'm just a bit of a Saab fanboy. Everything about the company and their cars fascinates me. Even when GM came in and started calling the shots they found ways to make each car quirky in it's own way (I'm choosing not to remember the 9-7x and 9-2x [although the 9-7x Aero was a monster and the 9-2x Aero was a more powerful WRX and looked better]).
So what car company is it for you? I know there are several who worship the AWD of a Subaru on a rally cross circuit, or the balance of an early BMW (sorry the new ones are a bit fat for my taste). Even if the cars aren't that great maybe it's just the fact that the company has the cajones to put something ridiculous into production (Yes it's awful but the Murano Crosscabriolet? Bonkers). Or maybe you just want a camry, in which case please don't reply because I'll fall asleep reading your comment and if you defend it as a fun car you're wrong, unless it's Torch's skidplate camry.
Kinja's being dumb so I can't attach pictures or link to Torch's best and worst list...Kinja'd

None. All compainies have good streaks and bad streaks, and no matter what there will always be a newer car that's better than what your company has put out. Now, it's perfectly ok to like a certain car company for any reason. However, being "endlessly loyal" to one company is why the Corolla is the best selling car in the world.

I like Audi's, just not as much as BMW's. My friend has a Stage III+ B5 S4 that I lust over, it's faster than my bike.

I love both BMW and Audi, however their new stuff just kills it for me. The 135i is the newest bimmer I have really loved and Audi has just gotten too boring for me. But their older stuff was amazing no doubt.

I don't really get what your saying. When I think of a corolla owner never once does "loyal" come to mind. I just think of teens and twenty somethings that can't think for themselves enough to cross shop and see that it's the only thing available at CarMax in their price range.

Like I said, I'm not an intelligent person, haha... But I've been hauled in or driven Chevrolets all my life, and I remember most of them, like my granddad's 73 Chevette and 75 Opala, my dad's Monzas, Omega and Omega Suprema, the two Zafiras we owned after the Omegas, the Corsa and now the Trailblazer and Onix.
I also drove my fair share of Vectras and Astras as borrowed or rented cars and they always came across to me as honest vehicles, doing an honest job without pretense of being something else, kinda like the ones we owned, there was always a familiarity there.

I loved Saturns. The OLD ones, none of that later "GM parts bin special" shit. Styrofoam engines, exploding differentials, panel gaps you could stick a Sharpie through, funny clutch feel, hard plastic everything (inside and out), NVH comparable to a Minotaur rocket. At idle. I discovered that they take surprisingly well to positive manifold pressure and methanol injection, and for that they have earned my love and respect.
I'll show myself out.

Plenty of people are loyal to Toyotas because they have an image of reliability brainwashed into them. Yes, there are people that only buy Toyotas because of that.

The new 550 is fun. Super fast for how big it is.
B7 is nice obviously, but it is an Alpina.
F30 335i M-Sport is pretty good as well as the F10 M5.
other than that they are all so boring.

My experience with Chevrolet was with my family's 1997 GMC Suburban (Basically a stretched Tahoe) and my grandmother's 1982 Corvette. The GMC was hilariously huge and 'murican and the 'Vette had the 350 and not the 427 so it wasn't terribly fast. However I loved the Corvette with a passion just because the C3 is the best looking corvette in my opinion (probably because I grew up around it). I was too young to really appreciate either car so I don't remember a lot about them. Also I drove a 2011 Impala for drivers ed and gosh it was boring.

the corolla buyer is not inherently loyal, they are just looking to buy a car that is cheap, reliable, and fuel efficient. The corolla has a perfect track record for being all those things, which leads me to another point. The corolla buyer is somebody who is afraid to take risks. This does not make them loyal though. If there were another reliable fuel efficient car that was cheaper, they would ditch the corolla in a heartbeat. Also keep in mind that there are always exceptions, like the person who always buys a corolla because his grandad who fought in the war always bought one.

Um, there are plenty of other cars that are just as reliable and more fuel efficient than the Corolla for similar money. They are also better equipped. But to the Toyota buyer, Toyotas are reliable. And that's the game, folks.

They're not much good for rally work. Not much suspension travel and they were almost completely devoid of torsional stiffness. I got my second one (2001 SC) to autocross pretty well, but it still couldn't hold a candle to the 1991 Escort GT that I autocrossed later.

I have driven an E90 335 and it was fantastic. All I've heard about the new 5 series is that it's too synthetic and too soft. I'm sure it's fast but they don't interest me like the 1-series does. The 1-series just has so much character and charm for some reason, the new 5-series seems like a volume driven luxury saloon and not an exercise in driving excellence. But I haven't driven one so I can't be too quick to judge.

Well, that may be a factor... Chevrolet never released the Impala or the Malibu or any other of those cars here in Brazil, only rebadged Opels, plus the Brazilian market standards are much lower than those in the american market.
Back when I was growing up in the early 90's, Brazil was just coming out of a military dictatorship and a massice economi recession, most cars were still from the 60's or even earlier, and Chevrolet was the first maker to release new models that weren't bare bones economic cars, so they kind of were the cars to have back them, even if their still beloved hit, the Monza, was just a rebadged version of the univerwsally hated Ascona.

All the more reason to try it. I'm all for obscure and illogical cars in races they weren't meant to do. I'm sure with a roll cage, some extra chassis supports, and a revised suspension it could make due decently. I really want to take my mom's 2011 Saab 9-4x to Auto cross. All the bros in their s2ks and miatas will laugh at the sight of a FWD crossover on the track but it will be fun nonetheless.

The only good F10 aside from the M5 is the 550i with the M-package.
E9X > F30 in every way possible. The E90 335i feels WAY faster than the F30 and it sounds way better too.
I work at a BMW dealership, I drive pretty much every BMW on a daily basis and I've grown to hate the F30, Really like the X1, neutral on the F10 (550 and M5 make up for it being a slow blob), everything is pretty much something that a white woman in their mid 30's would drive because it's "cute".

I hate the exterior of the X1 with a burning passion. I'm sure it drives better than it's competition but I could never live with the way it looks. Also the 3- and 5-series GT are appalling, like I flip out in a fit of rage every time I see one. What's your opinion on the 1-series? I'm not a huge fan of the convertible but a hardtop 135 with a manual is an object of lust for me.

135is = best BMW you can buy today.
The X1 with the 35 motor is actually super fun, way faster than it should be. And apart from the 5 series GT looking like ass it's actually extremely comfortable, so it does it's job, just really ugly.

To be honest though, I hardly care about their beigemobiles. My thing with Chevy is their heritage with Muscle Cars and the Corvette, and their current sports cars, like the Camaro, which is one of the fastest ugly cars I can think of, the Cadillacs, which everyone seems to be agree are awesome, and the new Vette which is just mind blowing.
I'll bash them pretty hard for their bad decisions too, both in the local and american markets (like keeping two damn hatchbacks with the same proposal and price, it's almost as if they hadn't learned their lesson the first time around).

I like the idea of the X1: fast, nimble, small SUV with decent amounts of space. The GTs though, those are just swollen fat versions of their platform mates marketed to old American's who want to sit 4 feet off the ground but drive something "Stylish". I pulled next to a 3-GT in my 9-3 and the belt line of the BMW was nearly eye level with where I sit (keep in mind I'm 6'4"). It's a sad excuse to sell a crossover with the pretense of being a "Active Dynamic iDrive xDrive Sportcross Sedan Ute Machine of Ultimate Driving Caliber M-Sport Cleantech iSport". I'll stop now because I'm ranting about my hatred for the breed they created....

SAAB.
I've been driving nothing but Saab for about 13 years now, daily driver status.
Nothing else inspires me like what they stood for, and for good reason...
Something about them really hits close to home. So while a sea of car enthusiasts won't hesitate to tell me why I'm wrong, I don't give one single bit of fuck.

I really don't like the Camaro. The ZL1 is fantastic but anything less I would take the Mustang. The new Cadillacs are great and my brother is saving up to get a 2.0t manual ATS soon. I'm glad to see that GM is at least trying to clean up the offering at Chevrolet but they still have a long way to go.

Honda
They may be missing the mark a lot lately... But when I look back and think of the older Honda's I owned or drove... Man they were great little budget cars. Integra (never drove the RSX), Prelude, S2000, my Accord LXi, CRX, a Fit, 3 Civics... (EX, EX, Si)...
Even when they aren't perfect, they are a thrill to throw through their gears. I just want them to bring back the real NSX, Integra, Prelude... Or if my dealer was right (Local Honda dealer) and Honda starts selling Honda Civic Si HFP with a factory supercharger... or a the S2000 engine with a supercharger... Life would be great!
Also, the ILX seems better than I originally thought, and I really want the V6 TL with a manual and the SH-AWD package!
That, and compared to my 2 Fords... A Honda with 200k miles is as reliable as a Ford with 80k, gotta love knowing I can flog it and it holds its value and won't die. I sold my 85 CRX, with 275k on the clock for more than I bought it for!
I might be dreaming, but it is a nice dream.

Look at the Elantra. Much better equipped, safer, better driving and similar mileage. But take a look at Hyundai's earlier offerings and that's what most people think of when you bring up a Korean brand. Toyota built it's reputation early on and has kept up with that image while The Koreans are trying to change people's preconceptions about their cars. People look so much at the past and build notions about the present through this. My parents are clueless towards the benefits of mileage and reliability of diesels simply because my mother grew up in a dealership family that happened to sell a few Olds diesels back in the day. Her conception was all diesels are slow, loud, unreliable, and terrible all around.

Shut up!
Shut up!
It is too a brand. I mean, a company. It's a company. Shut up!
In all seriousness, there's no car company to which I'm loyal and once you get into the complicated web of who owns what you end up going from, "I like Cadillac..." all the way to, "I guess I like all of GM?!"
I'm a Mustang enthusiast and loyalist. There's really no other automobile company or what-have-you that I'm as endlessly hooked on and even I'll admit that it's a fairly unhealthy obsession.
Besides, how can you be a endlessly loyal to a company that keeps dying?! Heh. Saab story.

Honda has been a favorite of mine for a long time. When they dropped the s2k I was greatly saddened. The NSX was amazing (My brother's friend owned two: totaled the first one within 8 hours of owning it, sold the second because insurance was too much). Having rode in it I can say it was amazing, sounded awesome and felt so composed through corners. When Honda launched the crosstour that was a death blow. I know there's some sporting nature left in the brand, just look at their bikes, and I have hope for them in the future, but right now they just trying to meet quotas. They need a low volume enthusiast car or a Toyubaru fighter right now, that would just be perfect.

I know it's completely illogical but I want to own all of them, or at least drive them. Saab just has so much passion put into each car, even if they aren't particularly great. Every one is so well thought out and calibrated to be special. Even the 9-4x, just a rebadged SRX, is something special to drive. It feel heavier than a cathedral next to my 9-3 but it grips amazingly well. The steering is tight and direct and despite being a tall crossover it just wants to be pushed when it's driven. They always have a way of making the ordinary into a unique and special experience.

But it's the fact that they keep dying, and then coming back, fighting for what they once were, dying again, then coming back just to want back what they once were: a quirky niche brand with a loyal fanbase and low volume oddball cars. How can you not love a stubborn company with a dream to fulfill?

I actually do. I was just busting balls.
At this point, I'm pretty sure that Saab has a recurring role on AMC's The Walking Dead . Sadly, it's the role of the zombie that keeps getting headshot episode after episode.
The only reason I wouldn't buy a Saab (okay, a couple of very particular Saab's) is that that network of support which the company is without, or goes without for periods of time. I like them, quirky Saabs, but with the new baby and all that I just couldn't imagine the hassle.

That's completely understandable. I live near to a very reputable dealer that merged with the Saab dealer just before they went under. Because they have all the rights to the brand and access to the distributers it's not hard to get parts and maintenance for our 3 (yes 3: 2011 9-5, 2011 9-4x, 2007 9-3 Aero Sportcombi) Saabs. I hope before the decade runs out NEVS can relaunch the brand beyond China and Sweeden. Hopefully they'll hit the European market soon and with the move towards electric cars in the U.S. maybe they can make a move early on and establish some credibility.

The 9-4x replaced a 2005 SRX (Plasticy interior and vague steering but RWD and pretty good all around) and the 9-5 replaced a 2009 Tundra for fuel efficiency. My brother still has his 2001 Nissan frontier and it has been drifted a few times while chopping firewood due to my lack of RWD exposure. The 9-3 is my first car and I adore it (although it is for sale as I'm trying to get a Turbo X). With rear wheel steering on the 9-3 it is a hoot to drive on the limit, quick turn ins result in a weird sensation of oversteer that is easy to control and never too frightening. Backroads are a joy to tackle with the seemingly endless powerband, full torque hits at 1,900 RPMs.

Wow. You really are a Saabist, which isn't that far from being a sadist (had to make the joke, sorry).
I've had all of two Mustangs in my life, though with the S550 I'm planning a third somewhere around 2015/16 but I'm really very eager for the 2.3L Turbo pony, so I'll likely wait and see.
The first was my first car, a 1988 Mustang GT. 5 speed and 5.0 liters, it was exactly what you shouldn't give a young man but I loved it. To this day, I go a big soft one when I see a Fox done up just right or when I see an 86-89 in the same colors as mine was. It was loud, fast enough to get in trouble and most importantly it wasn't a cut-spring-lowered CRX with a thousand amps of bass running through it which was the trend at the time.
Presently, I own an S197 and I love that car. Sure, the Cologne 4.0L isn't the most sporting of engines of all time, but it's a blank palate in terms of what a person can do to it. With the birth of our first child just over a month ago, however, I've put the build on hold where it is and it's our DD and family car.
Next, like I said, I'd like to own an S550 because I really like the new Mustang a whole lot and have longed for a turbo pony since the days of the SVO and which is why, before we found out we were pregnant, I was going to run a twin turbo FI set up.
Had a whole string of various cars but nothing has ever held my interest across the generations like the Mustang. I liked my STI, even if it was killing me financially and physically to own. I even enjoyed a 760 Turbo for a while, because Volvo. And I've had a bunch of stuff in between... though never a truck or a motorbike.
I get being an addict, I totally do. I just wonder what your gateway drug was, the one that lead you to become a Saabdict.

I don't know why but from very early on I liked Saabs. The first car I ever sat in with ventilated seats was a 2004 9-5 Aero we had as a rental while my dad's 911 was getting worked on. Then when I saw the top gear on the 9-5 my interest was peaked. I began looking for one as a first car. Through researching and driving several different Saabs I knew a 9-3 aero would be perfect for me. I dreamed of a Turbo X sportcombi but there are so few it was an impossibility. After searching for over a year I found a 9-3 Aero sportcombi with navigation close enough to pick up at an unreasonably low price (it had been on the dealer's lot for 6 months). After driving it I knew it was what I wanted. Rare, quirky, fast, luxurious, and all without the pretense of snobbishness that comes with so many European luxury brands.
So I'm not sure what it was exactly that triggered my love for Saab, just a combination of several factors that led me to get one that caused a deeper craze for the brand.

Very little snow where I live. Ever.
Having said that, Mustangs don't like snow. Or rather, they like to misbehave in the snow.
S'no to snow.

Saabs love the snow, and we get none here...the plateau to the west and mountains to the east get everything before the weather comes to the valley. That being said, dry pavement isn't a bad thing for a Saab either haha. I'd be rather cautious with a 400+ horsepower, live axel, torque monster sports coupe. I can only imagine what it would be like with no grip...

What year is your Mustang? Didn't the 5.0 GT have something like 415 HP?

Not sure how to respond to that. Haha.
Mine is PP, manual and has bolt-on's. It was never a rental car, it's not convertible and it belonged to a Mustang couple (who had his, hers, theirs) before me.
Here it is.

See that's a proper V6 mustang. I loathe the rental, automatic, bone stock base models I see everywhere. With a little work they can be great cars but leave them the way they came and I really can't stand them... Just a bunch of posers wanting a muscle car so they get a mustangs cuz it looks fast. As long as you drive it the wy it should be and don't rebadge it as a GT then I tip my hat to you.

Are you kidding? I debage, I don't rebadge!
But yes, I know exactly what you're talking about. I know a guy who has mock Mach'd his GT and it's embarrassing. Then again, I know a guy with a proper and legit Shinoda Boss.
So it really depends on the owner and the car.
Given enough money, I'd buy a facelifted S197 GT500 and take it to Shelby for the full Widebody Cobra, tick all the boxes, job.
Like this...

That's a mean looking 'stang. There's some bro who drives around Campus in a '05-'07ish Saleen GT and it is insane. It sounds amazing and looks like it wants to kill you.
There's such a long list of things I would do to my car, time and money allowing, but being a year round swimmer in high school with no job means no money and no time... I really hope I can sell my car soon enough to pick up this 9-3 Turbo X I found but I doubt it happen.

It's.......beautiful......
I can't decide to hate it or love it. Either way it's doing something to me and I'm not sure I like it.... Must be the wheels.

I have a 1996 Saturn SL2 with 178,000 miles. I think it is one of the most reliable and easy to repair cars you will find. The only recurring problem I have with my Saturn is the disc brakes will repeatedly warp again soon after a new brake job. Another problem I have experienced is with the rear window track retainer clip breaking. In 18 years I have replaced two alternators, one water pump, one starter, one upper motor mount and the two horn buttons and that's about it aside from maintenance items . The A/C system still works great after 18 years with no service, engine and transmission works like new and I still get 36 mpg on the highway. I do need to top it up with two cups of engine oil every week but I can live with it.

I love my Ranger, and I'll agree they need to make a full crew cab model.

Way to keep the flame alive!
I can also tell you that the throttle position sensors hate methanol, and the wheel bearings don't last long when you're autocrossing (a year, tops).
Back in my day, sonny, there was a company in Ohio called SPS (Saturn Performance Specialists) that sold some healthy brake rotors. I ran them for years with no serious warpage. Also, the wheel bolt pattern is the same 4x100 used by pretty much every small Japanese car from the 90s (Civic, Protege, etc). You might be able to get creative with hat offsets and get a reasonable replacement rotor. You'll have to really want it though! I did something similar with oil filters. I think I used a Motorcraft FL400 for the extra capacity... not positive it was an FL400...

I'm a Mitsu evo guy since i was a kid.
And maybe Mercedes Benz. They're timeless in my eyes, except for the Early A-Class and W220 and all B-Series, which is hopeless.

Funny, I am a 100% Toyota loyalist, but my wife and I both drive Subarus. It's very odd. We dont even live in an inclement weather area. But man do I love my Subarus.

My dad has owned two 911s. A 1989 widebody and a 2004 Carrera 4 cabriolet. I wasn't alive when he sold the '89 but I remember the 4c and it was fantastic. Even though it was the slowest 911 you could buy it was an experience every time we took it out. Awesome grip, amazing noise, all of it was just perfect.

Oldsmobile. I hate having to admit it because no-one my age has any fond memories of Oldsmobiles or don't know what they are.
Here's mine:
