You actually got a rejection letter? That alone is impressive. I got squat.

What are you applying for?

You can always reply and say that you are afraid you have to deny their rejection and you will be starting on some date lol

I think I mentioned this on one of your other posts. Being more-or-less straight out of college, look at grad specific rotational programs. You have a significantly higher chance of getting into a program designed for someone with no experience than a entry level profession that says it requires 0-3 years of experience but really means 3-5.

You wore shoes to the interview, didn't you?

Well it's the 8th time I've applied, and only got 5 letters. So I've got the squat answer too.

They have that program as an internship. I did apply for that one and got a no too. But now I'm past the 6 month mark and can't apply for those at VW anymore.

I've applied for 8 different positions. This one is Accessories Sales Specialist.

Shoes? What are you, some uppity Ivy Leaguer?! I bet you even wear a leather belt on a semi-regular basis.

Wait. Are you graduating or do you have one more year? Many companies won't take interns that have already graduated. I know my company won't. I can't comment on VW's offerings for full time new grad programs, but look at Ford's FCG program and Chrysler's CIE program. I'm pretty sure GM has something similar, but I can't recall what its called off the top of my head.
Alternatively, have you explored staffing agencies? There are a lot of those set up to staff OEM offices. I have a bunch of friends that work through those, but I don't know all the details.

I once interviewed without pants on. Luckily it was a phone interview. Wasn't for the company I work for though.

I graduated in May of this year. And I've been looking into GM's program. It's just that I already live in NoVa where VW is as wouldn't have to love across the country.

I've been rejected from Harley 3 times I've interviewed there and countless applications. Been bumped out because of Affirmative Action and corporate policy that they absolutely had to hire an internal candidate instead of an external candidate. It's common knowledge in Milwaukee to know that to get a job at Harley, you have to have a job at Harley

That's complete BS! Internal promotion is okay, but you can't have a successful corporation just by shifting everyone around inside.

I agree. It's frustrating, but I still have 40 years of my career left to work there

Is that with a dealership, or VWoA?

I've always had it in the back of my mind that one day I may make a real effort to work for VW in Brasil or the fatherland. I've still got a lot of resume padding to do, though.

VWoA in Reston, VA

Got any connections through VW clubs or vortex? I know in my local club there are a few people with ties to VWoA. Seems like that would be a good way to get your resume on the right desk at the top of the pile.

I've got Jag. That's about the only insider I have. Since I don't actually have a VW, I haven't spent much time on the boards.

They're one in the same.....*stares wistfully out the dark window* *reminisces about a former VW* *car is happier with its new owner and doesn't want me back* *melancholic piano music starts playing* *pours a scotch*

.....If you'll excuse me, I'm going to my chamber of brooding.
