Well that Aston isn't going to pay for it's self.
Keep that in mind when you're thinking about putting off your studies.

Then all you have is Step 1, Step 2 CK, Step 2 CS, Step 3, and medical board certification exams......I've easily spent over $15,000 over the past 5 years on exams. Yep. Good luck.

Yeah and don't you have to re-certify every number of years too?

Ha, my girlfriend actually studied months for it, took the exam...during which the computer systems died and all her info was lost (which resulted in lots of crying, panic, and sadness for weeks), so studied for months again to take it, and then came to the realization that she doesn't want to go to med school.
Now she's applying to bioengineering/biochem graduate programs - she's been doing cardiovascular stem cell research for a few years and realized that she'd much rather stay in the biotech world and position herself to get to the management/business side of things in that field.
Good luck studying and follow your heart!

Oh I know exactly how she feels/felt.
Working in a hospital right now, it takes some special crazy to want to be a doctor.
But when I go to my research volunteering I find that I have so much more fun with it, but we shall see how it goes. I have zero desire to write the GRE, even less than the MCAT. All these tests are madness.

They sure are...I took the GRE almost 8 years ago and I'm still not over it. At least no more standardized tests, ever I hope.
And yes, of course...like I said, follow your heart - the gf has a lot of rotating med school friends who come to work at her lab and they're definitely very passionate about it. She had always just told herself that she wanted to be a doctor so was blindly running towards that goal until the MCAT mishap made her wake up and think for a minute.
It takes a special kind of crazy to do any job, so just gotta find your crazy and go with it. Hell, I found myself in the world of technical accounting of all things. Who would've thought!
