This is the A380. It is cooler than the 747. Because it is bigger. Suck it Boeing.

I have to disagree with you on being cooler than the 747. Yeah its bigger (not by much) but its ugly as sin, doesn't sell well, and doesn't have any of the cool conversions that the 747 has - for example Air Force One.

The 747-8i is prettier. And longer.

It's not cooler than the 747. It's nowhere near as good looking and has a history of exploding engines.

It is bigger. By quite a bit. It's got a 125 ton higher MTOW. Which is a lot. And it isn't ugly. You only think it's ugly because americans on the internet can't stand that Airbus built a bigger jet than Boeing and by default shout that it's ugly. The A380 wings are a thing of beauty since they are the first wings that aren't sectioned. Continuous cross-section wings look better.

True, but has anyone ever strapped an enormous laser to the front of a A380 for shooting down ICBMs?

A history? It's not even around long enough to have a 'history'. Either way, it was just a single incident. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A3… <— see.

That one incident spawned a whole investigation which resulted in engine changes on tons of airframes, not to mention the discovery of cracks in the wing structure which led to design changes

As other Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines also showed problems with the same oil-leak, Rolls-Royce ordered many engines to be changed, including about half of the engines in the Qantas A380 fleet. [254] During repair of the airplane involved, cracks were discovered in wing structural fittings which also resulted in mandatory inspections of all A380s and subsequent design changes

I'm not really criticizing the plane mind you, I just disagree that it's cooler than the 747, certainly not on the grounds that it's bigger. Bigger isn't always better

Whoah there, that's not cool. Aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder. That's an ugly ass plane to me. It's bulbous and fat. The wings are good looking I guess, but the 747-8 is way more attractive if we're talking big passenger jets.

The 747 has been around for much much longer though.

Ever flown in a 747? Upstairs in business class?
