Pictures, videos, links, etc at the very least
I can only post words. Without the ability to revert to old editor, you all are saved from my inane videos and tired memes
I'd post a picture of my browser information but lol new editor

Exact same set of issues, exact same browser/OS combo. I do have limited Java IIRC (I'd have to check) I'm doing my picture posts in Firefox, which for some reason Oppo runs like shit it.

I told you the old system was running too smoothly. Denton's not happy unless Kinja's acting like a tired three year old strung out on heroin...

Hey, could you explain a little further? What's preventing you from posting image/video/links? Are these formatting options added to the post and the post fails on save, or are you not even able to add them?
Any additional information, screenshots, or screencasts you can provide would be ultra helpful.

Gonna ask you the same I asked OP:

Sorry for lack of narration, but I'm at work and don't want to look like a tool lol

Also testing various workarounds here, I'll be editing the post with my progress.

Screenshots wouldn't be much of an aid, I'm afraid - as the result of attempting to merely copy-paste a link, a video, or using the image insertion tool causes the content (in text form, no actual insertion) to either flash onto the screen briefly and instantly vanish or never appear, leaving the comment box as blank as before.
If I had to make a guess, I'd say that the issue is in your content parsing script and not the scripts related to content preview, as experiments have shown if a thus "blank" post is actually posted, the image does not display then either (i.e. is not successfully inserted). Not a preview error unless successful preview is needed for the content to post.
Short version: attempt to use video insert/picture insert tools or enter link that scripts are supposed to recognize as content of those types without using the tool -> a blink of *something* and an empty line in the comment box once more.
IE 11.0.9600, Medium-High security (prompts for potentially unsafe content, etc.), Protected Mode enabled, Java console and and plug-in SSV helpers enabled. (No fine detail Java settings in IE, reserved to the console in IE11 I think).

I love that you even went this far to help out. A million blue stars to you, sir!
Now for the silly part: have you cleared cache and restarted your browser?

I'm sure your settings are the way they are for a reason, so I'm not going to ask you to adjust them. We're going to try to test on the same security settings to see if that causes any conflicts.

Also, could you see if your security settings match up to RamblinRover's ( mentioned here )?

Everything works, save uploading pictures, if you manually insert content with the HTML editor

Indeed, my security settings match RamblinRover's. They are standard for IE11 browsing, nothing has been changed since install

Can't say I'm surprised. Running into pre-formatted HTML probably successfully tells the helper script to stop helping.

I have good news and bad news.
Bad news: the editor is broken on IE11 (as you've seen)
Good news: it should be fixed eventually!
Sorry, going to have to ask for your patience on this one.

IE 11 breaks everything. This isn't really surprising. Seriously, I hate it. It's like the Windows ME of browsers.

Months later I'm here to say the IE11 experience should be much improved! I will now turn a blind eye to this post, if you have any continued trouble please tag a new Kinja Help post or email us .

Thanks again for the diligence, Ernie. I haven't had any issues with IE11 as of late, so I'm inclined to agree!
On another positive note, I haven't noticed any new issues on Windows Phone 8.1's refreshed browser. I haven't had a whole lot of time to play with it just yet, though what I have done has been relatively worry free. The reply text box works on 8.1, where it was borked on 8.0!

Yep, I've heard 8.1 works really well with Kinja which is a huge relief!
