Change for changes sake is the mark of foolishness.

I want to know whats so broken with what we have right now. If someone can highlight that for me and then explain why the format presented above is an improvement, I shall shut my trap and accept the facts.

I adapted to the latest Kinja changes just fine, but this is too much. The current commenting system is perfectly fine, and people are happy with it. Why bother updating it? * grumbles *

Agreed. To my eyes, this adds nothing but confusion. They have a history of rolling out "upgrades" before the accompanying functionality is ready. I see no added functionality or features with this.

Whoever came up with this, must have had a great time explaining it to the bosses.

Unfortunately, I think this is the boss's idea. Which means that any well-intentioned web designer working for Gawker would be unable to push back on it.

A lot of people aren't happy with it, so they keep changing things. The problem is, they aren't listening to what people aren't happy about. Every time they change something they make it exactly what people are griping about. As for this, I don't even know what the hell I'm looking at.

Also, where's the publish button for the new editor at the main oppo page? I find it and can't post anything. Can you help?

Perhaps we've been doing this wrong; it has to be done the opposite. Let's start giving positive feedbacks on something awful, and they'll probably improve it. Negative feedbacks on something awful will result in more upsetting updates.
