Seriously? I'm starting to think I should dedicate my life to becoming an advocate for better driver's education and stricter licensing tests.

If you can't read the article, the gist of it is that LI drivers are confused by the appearance of merge/acceleration lanes, thinking it's a normal lane and panicking to merge at the end when they realize it's not. "Hmmm, these dots are closer together than the ones that delineate normal highway lanes. What could it possibly mean? Oh no, this lane is about to end! I better cut this car in the right lane off!"

You think that's bad. Watching people attempt to take that roundabout in Riverhead was hilarious and scary at the same time.

Don't even get me started. I've almost been hit there far too many times, and every single time it's because the person ignores the yield sign and enters the circle without even looking to their left. The sad part is that I love traffic circles and I'd love to see more, but people can't handle them.

Wow that's incredible. We should start the Jalopnik Advocates for Car Access Safely School...or JACASS. Sorry just wanted to come up with an acronym that would say jackass. I know it was a stretch.

We did, but perhaps not on the Northern State? It's not a road I frequent, but I'm almost positive the LIE has them. Regardless, it's not exactly a difficult concept. The dots are spaced closer, clearly its not delineating a normal lane.

I think there's one on the Northern State near the Meadowbrook Parkway exit... funny to watch people drive there. I just stay in the left lane to avoid morons for that part.

A fun one is when somebody in the right lane thinks the onramp acceleration/merge lane is another right lane. Um, no.

We had a roundabout installed here a few years ago to lessen traffic at an intersection. It actually has worked very well, and most people use it properly. There is the occasional jackass but still, for Tennessee, not bad.

I'd love for the lights in my town to be replaced with them.

there's a traffic circle at Circuit of The Americas that nobody can figure out. I've seen some way ridiculous stuff there.
