If you're buying a classic Rolls-Royce, make sure you buy the best example you can.
Maintenance on these is expensive, despite what a pushrod V8 and GM automatic transmission will let you to believe. The Silver Shadow and Corniches of the 1970s had the self-leveling hydropneumatic suspension as licensed from Citroën as well. Also, the brakes are probably needlessly complicated, and may cost nearly $10k, on a car that would be worth between $30k and $50k.
Nevertheless, I still really like classic Rolls-Royces.
