When I win the lotto I think I will need to get one of these. Much more after the break.

Don't get me wrong, the 917 is a beauty, but if I was going to go out and pound around a track I would want a 962. Why? Cornering Gs.

Dauer 962 LM. Because then you won't be confined to a track.

My vote for the best car ever made is the 956/962 sisters. Simply put, the most dominating race program ever made. More Le Mans wins, a better raceing win %, and a longer lifespan than any singular platform before or since (to my knowledge)

You only get in trouble if the police can catch you. Get a Le Mans fuel tank and a decent stretch of road. Also make sure it's dry and above freezing but below "spontaneous combustion".

Perhaps. It is hard to find raw data and it would depend on the variant of the 917 being discussed. I will say that the curves of the 917 are quite nice, but I still think it would be more fun to race the 956/962.

Come to the North Carolina Museum of Art and see one in the flesh...and a mess of other Porsches. Wonderful exhibit running thru mid January....
