So I love my '10 Taurus SHO, but the chrome surrounding the taillights peeling off when the car was barely 3 years old and had less than 50,000 miles, is just ridiculous. Should I tweet or facebook Ford in the hopes that someone takes note so they can snap themselves up some positive attention by fixing it up for me? Should I tweet, facebook and/or instagram Ford?

Is it still under warranty? If so, drive that bad boy back to the dealership.

I'd put it out there in the Twittersphere without asking ... you know, so they have to deal with it.

TBH, I only used "deal with it" to have a reason for posting this gif once more.

I can't imagine your warranty is less than 5yr/50k. Take that to the dealer, and if they won't do anything about it, try another dealer. Save the nuclear option for when they won't deal.

If you are out of warranty, tough luck. It's a piece of trim, not a major drive line component.

I already bugged them about it, it's not covered under my extended warranty. But one way or another I want to make a stink about it.

Yeah I figured posting something like: My 2010 SHO is the best car I've ever owned, pity about the taillight chrome though.

That way the get a positive message + an opportunity to impress visitors to their social media by helping me out.

See what the dealer says about warranty first. If that doesn't pan out email customer service directly. Publicly blabbing, to me, is childish. Sucks it is happening, but show give them a little courtesy and maybe they will return in kind. If not, then go hog wild on the social media front.

I'm under an extended warranty, but the trim isn't covered :(

I would message the Ford facebook page and any forums you know they monitor. Be polite, ask the questions you need and see what happens. I did that with my Mustang when the Hood bubbled. They took care of me and elevated the case.

I already tried the dealer route. I suppose I could try emailing/calling Ford before I got all social media on their asses.

I'm not sure if this is your mindset, but my brother annoyingly (read: i fucking hate it) seems to 'attack' and feels the need to be almost aggressive and confrontational about things like this. I on the other hand, go in politely, respectfully, and with understanding. Then if they try and yank me around I flip and get stern, never angry though. It rarely benefits you to get uptight and pissy, why would someone want to help an asshole throwing a tantrum. Not saying that's you or that is your intention, but just be mature about it.

Right. Before I ever walked into a dealership, the NY/NJ regional manager was aware of the situation. I explained I wanted the car worked on a specific shop. They obliged. I went to the repair shop i wanted the car worked on and found out the Ford dealer that they use. I went to that dealer— The repair was approved within two hours and had the car in the shop the next week.

Do both then, do social media on all platforms, and go back to the dealership and raise hell. Seriously, Extended warranty and your car is peeling.

Yeah, I am quite disappointed with it, so are hundreds, if not thousands of other people.
