1-of-2000 made that year, 1-of-8351 ever made. Shes #534 made in 1972, in Safari Green. Can't find records of how many were made in each color, and with what options, so 1-of-2000 is as low as I can go.
Also, no, not staying that color.

how do sooo many cool cars magically end up in locations like the one pictured? I can just see a 2014 Ferrari 458 GT Challenge racecar rolling off the assembly line and a dude whispering to it, "you will eventually end up in a farm shed in Kearney Nebraska" or "in some dudes shop in Cuernavaca Mexico to fade away"

Manual pop-up headlights FTW!
Also, why wouldn't you keep it in that color? It's awesome!

Hey now, she's behind the farm shed, not inside of it :P Before I owned her, she sat uncovered for at least a decade, one more winter (tarped and covered) isn't going to hurt that badly. She'd be inside the workshop, but the Loadall you can see in that picture gets parked there in the winter (its a considerably more expensive machine) along with the tractor and my grandmothers truck. Come spring time it'll move inside so I can start working on it in earnest
Also, I resent the implication that I'm from Nebraska >.<

Oh I know buddy, we have a property near Buffalo Texas. She is a beauty and everything else. It's just so odd watching Chasing Classic Cars and other shows like that showing these beauties locked away in inevitably the same type of location. Just seems weird how many end up in that scenario. Not implication you were from Neb, just went to google maps and picked some random town that if my theory is correct, there is probably a road legal Mercedes CLK GTR road car at some dudes house :]

Well whatever color you decide, I hope you can get it back to this condition.

The exterior should hopefully look that goos (better, cause soccerballs) but it'll be very different underneath. Its not exactly keeping the frame/running gear it was born with
hint: the answer is always....
