I'm slowly becoming a Vettel fan and I have no clue why. He's just a really hard person not to like (aside from the whinny 3 year old that lives in his helmet sometimes).

he's growing on me too, I think most of the hate he gets is just tall poppy syndrome.

This is cool and makes me happier to be a fan of his. I think Formula 1 fans need to see more of the drivers outside their usual setting to get a better idea of their personalities.
Vettel actually did a good job of showing some personality at the end of the season but I think this is something the whole grid needs to improve on. Their personas are a little absent/stale.
I'm already looking forward to next year. I hope the rule changes lead to a close battle for the championship and good racing throughout.

He and Raikonnen would be a couple of guys I would love to spend a few hours in a car road trip with.

Yup. I despise fair-weather front-runner fans in all sports, and yet I stepped into F1 fandom just as Seb was ascendant. I resisted for a while, but dang, he's the real thing.

I don't know the man, but I don't care for him as a person. I hope I would feel differently if I were to meet him. However, you can't fault his talent or ambition. That said, I'd love to see how he would do in a car that wasn't hands down the best car in the field. To see Alonso, again and again, drag a sub par Ferrari onto the podium speaks volumes about who is likely the best driver today.

Man, I've been a fan for a while. He's got a bit of a geeky side that comes out every now and then that I can appreciate. Likes Monty Python. Has worked like crazy to be able to drive so well, and does it. I could, in fact, fist bump the guy for being awesome.
Imagine my disappointment to hear there's a girlfriend! Haha.

Me too. As a staunch Hamilton fan, I've got a predisposed dislike to the man.
However, he's just such an affable and charming guy that I can't keep it up.
