Introduction - A fat Italian

Hello Opponauts, after a long time reading I thought it would be polite of me to introduce myself. My name is Giovanni, I'm 28 years old and am writing this from one of those bits in the middle of Italy with all the pretty hills and nice wine.

I quite like cars and am possibly one of the only people in the known universe who doesn't like the E30 M3. I do very much like other cars and am extremely fortunate to have a few to my name. I'm also quite partial to motorcycles and have an unhealthy obsession with Triumphs.

In reading an imaginary book called 'Interesting Ways to Ruin Yourself' I came across the imaginary chapter called 'Motorsport' which came immediately after the chapter 'Lighting Cigarettes With €100 Bills,' so in 2014 I look forward to regaling Oppo-land with tales of woe, anguish, sudden understeer and soiled underwear at the helm of this little thing.

I would think that being the head of Team Rocket would allow you enough money for motor sports not to make too big of a dent in your wallet.

The Italian historic hillclimb championship, lots of nice guard rails, hay bales and people to crash in to!

Boss. I've always wanted to get into some sort of motorsport, but I've gone down the project car route as a black hole for all my money :S

Sounds like great fun though. What's the spec on the car? Along with pretty much everyone in Britain, I love the old-school mini.

It's a FIA Group 1 spec 1300 Cooper S, so pretty much standard with very limited modifications. I survived the project car phase beaten, scarred and generally broken, but it was fun at the time!

Should be pretty damn quick all the same. Is this the first motorsports thing you're doing, or have you got experience elsewhere?

I used to do hillclimbs with my supermoto and have some schoolboy motocross to my name, but no car experience yet!
