I'm Ian, a 23 year old shallow hazards geologist that is currently offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, but lives in Houston, TX. I have been reading/lurking Oppo for probably about 3 years, and figured today would be a good day to post since I am bored.

That Mustang up there is my baby: a 2008 hair dresser special. It was the first car I earned myself, so I threw stupid amounts of money at it and therefore I have decided to keep it despite its lack of straight line power and the crap I get about it. I have built it for track days (as you can see above) but have also autocrossed it and have now started drifting with it, which is stupid amounts of fun and a great way to kill off tires on your stock rims. It has a bunch of mods on it, which I can give you a list of if you ask. It is also the reason for my screen name. Here are some more pics:

I don't daily drive the Mustang anymore though. My current DD is a 2003 SVT Focus European Appearance Package. That means I get fancier rims, factory HID's, and heated seats! It's been a great DD so far, although I have to do some maintenance on it pretty soon since it has been getting a bit ragged. Here is a picture:

It is also my rally cross and autocross vehicle, but I haven't rally crossed it in a while since I put high performance summer tires on it. Even though I like Ford's, I don't discriminate and have a large dream garage like most people on Oppo do. Other things I like are my new wife, my white German Shepherd, Storm, beer, smoking meat, and LSU and Saints football. I look forward to stop lurking and start posting here.

EDIT: Also if someone would tell me how to get just a blurb on the front page next to the picture and not a bunch of text, that would be great.

Congratulations! I don't have that vintage to my relationship yet, but I'm still dating my high school sweetheart, I'm at the three year mark.

I just found it funny how you mentioned you loved your new wife. White German Shepard? Gonna have to request SR20 on that, sounds badass.

SVT Focus owners unite! There's a few of us on here, welcome to the club. Hopefully you've had a better time with your Focus than we have, most of the posts about SVTF's are about how unreliable they've been haha.

Beautiful Mustang, too, love the all-black look. SN197's just look so sinister and you've done a great job with yours!

Thanks! I've put probably over 10k miles on it since last June, and have really had no major problems. That is with autox and rallyx thrown in. Houston has a HUGE amount of people that are active on Focus Fanatics, so I have a massive resource to pull from and a bunch of guys that are more than willing to show me what to do. I plan on doing the timing belt for peace of mind sometime over the holidays.

She was a rescue I adopted from Galveston after Ike (IIRC) tore through there. She was hit by a car, and needed surgery on her hip right when I got her. She is also really really weird: hates going outside, loves cats, hates other dogs, and acts big and tough towards strangers even though she cowers as soon as you get near. I love her though.

Good to hear yours is doing well, I've ordered my own timing belt from Steve at Tasca Ford, in addition to driver/passenger engine mounts and front sway bar linkages, so I've got a lot to do over winter break too! Love the forums, have you tried SVTPerformance as well? It's a lot smaller than FocalJet or Focus Fanatics but I've found it's better to find info and fixes for smaller, less common issues than the regular Focus forums.

Haven't really ventured out of FF, because honestly I mostly stay in the regional thread since the guys from Houston are so crazy knowledgeable about the cars. I haven't run across a major problem yet, but I have plenty of little ones I need to tinker with. Unfortunately for the SVT though, the Mustang gets most of my wrenching time haha.

Won't be there tomorrow since I am still offshore, but the WHM meets are pretty awesome. Last time we had over 900 cars there.
