Before tonight, you'd be stretching a bit to call my car 'fast'. Now? This is one fast little pocket rocket....
The tune made a huge difference. Night and day. Before, you lost boost above 3500 rpm, you hit peak power then sort of flatlined. Now? It pulls hard almost to the redline. It's quick, it shaved at least a second off the zero to 60 time, it's probably right around 7 seconds now.
It boosts to 22-23 psi vs stock which only hit 14. That means it sounds better too, with the blow off being sharp and loud.
There's a few neat things to the tune as well. One of these is select-a-tune. If you turn on the cruise control button ("arm" cruise) the ECU commands stock tune. Sort of like an Eco button that actually works. This also lets you have a literal go fast button, and let's you compare the stock tune and the flash directly. I'll try to get video later.
The other feature is no lift shift. When accelerating, you can now keep your foot on the gas and the car will keep boosting when you depress the clutch, keeping things going to be a bit faster. I'm a little hesitant to do this often, it might be okay but it's counterintuitive so it makes me nervous. It's interesting though.
All in all this is the best $315 I've ever spent on a car. The car is worthy of the RS moniker now, it's no longer pretending to be a hot hatch, it's definitely hot. If any of you are in the Wichita area and want to try it out, let me know. It's definitely worth trying if you want a budget hot hatch.

What do you drive again? That sounds glorious.
NO LIFT SHIFT MUTHAFUCKAS.

Sonic RS.

My tune has the NLS too. I use it often for the backfires and noise, I haven't noticed issues with it.
I assume this is a Cruze or something?
What engine are those?

What car is this Sonic RS?

Ah, right! That sounds slick as hell.
I doubt I'll be near Wichita anytime soon (northern VA), but if I am I'd love a drive. I'll be in my GTI most likely, which by the time I have a road trip out there will hopefully be built much more than it is now. I'll trade a drive for a drive, and buy beers afterwards, haha.

No SR20 makes me sad. What kind od power do you think it's making now? My Dart desperately needs a tune but I don't think any are available yet.

I suggest everyone with a turbo motor take it to their nearest reliable tuner and let them mess with those 1s and 0s. I got about 50hp and 100ft-lbs of torque increase at the peak and a much better power band. Took about 2 hours and I got a fun dyno sheet to back up my claims. For less than $500.

Yep

I'll get video later. It added about 25-30 hp and similar or more ft lb of torque. It's probably abarth levels of power, but I haven't driven an abarth yet.
Surely someone will do a proper tune of the turbo dart, it's not that hard to get power out of these engines

What do you have? Those are insane gains!!! The tune on mine gets about 30 each hp/tq

I've been watching your posts with a little interest in a Sonic. Now you have my full attention and I'm much more interested.

It's a Sonic. 1.4L Ecotec

Mess with the NLS, if it has a Getrag it will take the beating.
I make well over the max suggested tq on that trans and I NLS often

Saturn Sky Redline. It was night and day. There was an upgrade available from GMPP that unlocked 30hp and 80tq and maintained warranty. I was already out of warranty so I took it to a tuner instead hoping to get even more out of it. I was not let down.

I don't doubt that was night and day, that's just bonkers.
