Nobody knows.
Toyoda does.
He's not telling us.

Let's hope Toyota stays true with Supra's spirit. I really expect the pack to mention; 'NO BATTERIES INCLUDED'.

I don't mind batteries or a super capacitor, as long as the weight is not too big, and they add good amounts of power and instant torque and they are cleverly placed in the car.

I don't too, but Supra gained such a cult due to being,....how can I put it....a larger GT86 with a bullet proof engine.

No, it was a big GT that handled well and had boatloads of power while also being comfortable. Meanwhile the GT86 is cheap, stripped down, light, and nimble.
The supra "comeback" would wear a lexus badge again (new SC?) when you consider they cost around the same league as a corvette when new.

They were priced in this range: $31,078 - $40,508 (40 for the TT one.) but yeah, today, you're right. But I'd rather wish Supra came in the GT86 range of cars as Pres. of Toyota has I think expressed his wish for.

Nobody is connected to this? We must hunt him down and squeeze him for what he knows!
...but how do you find nobody? You don't. Clever bastard...!

It won't be an I6 (they don't make those anymore), so there will be compromise one way or the other.

Damn teasers, are worse than not knowing anything, it is like smelling tasty food, but not being allowed to eat it.

If you stick the supra name in that family, then it wouldn't be a supra. It'd be an AE86 corolla successor.....which is why the scion FR-S is the toyota GT86 in everywhere but America. And 30-40k in early 90s dollars is about 50-65k in todays dollars. Or, again, about the same at the low end as a corvette or M3/4 at the high end.
I think they need to do a RWD sedan again (basically completely rework the IS) and have a hybrid 4 and 6 cylinder be the base and mid level motors. Good fuel mileage, decent electric torque, and a well sorted chassis to make it a new 3-series fighter. BUT they use that chassis as the basis for a 2-door limited run coupe that would be the supra. The supra would then be their M4 fighter and have some character again instead of being an "alphabet soup named box of gizmos" car like the IS-F. Price it around 60-70kk for a well loaded model and it could be quite competitive. The base sedan doesn't have to be a "sports" sedan either. Maybe being a bit softer and smoother would benefit lexus? The IS as it is seems so empty and lacking a soul these days and with cadillac really stepping up their game with the one-two punch of the ATS and the excellet CTS, Lexus definitely has a few reasons to take a good long look at their current product lineup and make some upgrades. If they sell enough of the hybrid base models then they can easy justify giving the supra a non-hybrid motor. Maybe even use a derivative of the LFA's engine? A V8 version perhaps?

Yeah, no for the Gt86 range. Separate car it'd work but including batteries wasn't on my mind. The people with which Supra was popular, are more from modification scene.
