Yesterday, my Grand Cherokee's key !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I tried lock de-icer, liquid wrench, graphite, banging on the key with a rubber mallet, and a locksmith. Nothing worked.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

So, I took my 135is to work even though it was kinda slushy/icy out. The city had put down tons of salt and sand on the roads so I made it around ok. I scheduled a tow for this morning.

The tow truck driver was 15 minutes early, even though it was snowing.

I told him about the key not turning, he saw my rubber mallet on the passenger seat and said "oh hey you tried the hammer trick already huh?" I told him yes but no luck, and he decided to give it a try.

After maybe a couple minutes tops, HE GOT THE KEY TO TURN. Since I didn't need the tow, I tipped him 10 bucks and drove the Jeep to the dealer. They're replacing the lock cylinder and cutting a new key. Not the cheapest thing but hey at least it'll keep it working.

Thanks tow truck driver dude!

(Note about the picture...it was the first result when I google image searched "tow truck driver." Google image search has a sense of humor, apparently.)

Hey, the whole purpose of the Grand Cherokee is to keep the 135is in the garage on days when there's snow, slush, ice, salt, sand and other assorted crap out on the roads.

If you don't have sympathy for me, at least have sympathy for the 135is! ;)

I'll have you know, I try on a regular basis to not be a typical BMW driver. In fact, when I bought it, and the finance guy tried reeeallllly hard to sell me window tinting and I told him that I didn't want to be a douchebag in a black BMW with tinted windows.

But did you pay extra for the blinkers? I hear they don't come standard on BMW's.

They actually do come standard. Training on how to operate them is apparently extra.

I hear they come with an automatic parking assist to help keep the the white line centered under the car, how does that work?

i hope you know i'm just messing with you, but to be fair, in your last 2 posts of your jeep you did mention that you have a BMW, so you just made it easy.

Oh, for sure. I totally know you're messing with me.

I'm certainly not rich, just a car nerd with a decent paying job and low fixed expenses. So I'm actually a little embarrassed to say I drive a BMW and have a Jeep to drive in the winter. Because that makes me sound like some kind of asshole.

It's like the auto parallel parking system on Lexus and Ford cars, except it aims a little to the left.
