I just saw on facebook that another one of the girls I went to high school with is getting married. I think this makes 10 now. I mean I wish them the best and I'm happy for them. Hell I'm even impressed that at 19 they're responsible enough to take care of a kid. Although that might just be that I'm scared I wouldn't be a great parent. But that aside I just couldn't imagine getting married at my age. I have too much semi-damgerous stuff I want to do before then, like teach in Africa.

One of my hs friends got married over the summer. It was super weird. beautiful wedding but disappointing (no booze) and made me feel old as hell.

I remember being young.

It's worse when you realize all of your exes are married and/or have kids.

Yeah, I know that feeling. One of my brother's close friends is getting married in a few months. I'm 21, and I don't even have a girlfriend.

I got married pretty young. I'd recommend waiting, but I've learned that it doesn't matter what I recommend. If you're in love and want to get married, you'll do it. Just don't chase after it. Being married and young is very stressful.

Yeah though your wedding was beautiful. Now if the Tardis wouldn't have had all those issues then it would of been even more beautiful.

Preach it! I have one married friend and several engaged ones. I'm 22, turning 23 on Christmas, and I have only ever had two girlfriends in my entire life, both in 9th grade and thus barely deserving of the title

One of those people I mentioned was my ex. That was an odd thing to see.

If it makes you feel any better I've had 6, 7 if you count that two week relationship I had right after graduation. and I still don't think I could see myself getting married.

Honestly, if I get married it will be a formality and will be for companionship. That's all I want from a romantic ladyfriend: somebody to be and share a life with. I don't really see myself as steady "family man" material; I have absolutely no interest or desire for children and I do not feel bad about it since I have three other siblings that can each pass on the family name.

Sigh. Not that far in Dr. Who yet. Where is that? Season 5+?

I'm 22 in a couple of weeks and I definitely don't want to get married anytime soon. As for kids, I'm not sure I'll ever want any.

At this point I don't think I'd even want anyone to live with me. Then again, I'm one of those forever alone types, so I doubt I'm in any danger of finding a girlfriend anytime soon. ;)

Oh, and I hate weddings. They're definitely not my idea of fun.

I'm noticing this too. I kinda just wanna write on their facebook walls "lol couldn't keep it wrapped?", but, I'd feel bad.

Talk about kickin' em when they're down.... I mean. They already have a KID to deal with.

they cost lots of money

you will never know why they're angry

RIP arguing

like your friends? She doesn't!!

It's really not that bad if you find the right girl, though.

If you get married, you won't be able to aggressively expand your Hot Wheels collection, nor will you be able to browse Ebay for hours looking at cars you'll never be able to buy.

So, a lot of the folks I know who married super-early aren't together anymore. Some are, but most aren't. I think this was made worse by the whole "ring by spring" BS in college. Folks paid $40K a year to hunt for a gott dang husband and clog my classes with the dumb —SMH.

I know that doesn't make it feel less weird, but just sayin'. I'm on the "do all the awesome stuff now" path, too.

Would you say that they were out on a "booty hunt?" (Bad tumblr joke, sorry.) But honestly I'm fine with not getting married for a long time. I was just shocked and even though I knew some people would get married I didn't expect so many so quick.

Wait, 19 ? I'm experiencing the same and I'm 30. I still think I'm too young for having kids.

I don't know that many people from high school anymore, but I was 29 when the first of my friends (the males are all of a similar age as I am) became a parent. I don't live in the US though, so that might be it.

If you like Africa...you can read about living there from a car enthusiasts perspective at: http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/tag/west-afric…

I used to live in Africa. I lived in Ghana. I highly recommend it.

Ha!

Never heard the 'ring by spring' term. We always called it the Mrs. major. At my college the engineering mall was separate from the rest of the campus, so it was pretty easy to spot them.

I just got married this past October to a girl I dated for 6 years. While we enjoy marriage, we both agree that we absolutely DO NOT want kids for another 5 years. We want to do all the things you're supposed to do while you're young and before we have too many responsibilities.

We use "MRS Degree," too. Either way, punch them all in their pretty little faces. Srsly.

Haha, took the words right out of my mouth. My best friend from elementary school and Jr. High got married last month, and on the drive home from the wedding, it struck me that we'd been friends for 27 years. Just being able to say that makes me feel kind of old.
