Keep in mind that it was a "saddlery manufacturer" until 1908 when it became an automotive business. GM bought up the brand in the 1931. It was named Holden after the founder, James Holden—his grandson, Edward Holden, joined in 1905 and started the carmaking business, Holden's Motor Body Builders Ltd, in 1919. It's a shame to see such an old and historic automaker die; in honor of the brand, have the mullet-tossing, beard-growing, pants-tearing burnout wagon from down under: the VL Commodore wagon.

Holden will exist beyond 2017, but will no longer manufacture cars locally. The brand name is too strong to remove entirely.

you're not kidding. Between Toyota and Holden they spend close to $3 Billion a year in parts sourced locally, that's a big hole in the economy to fix.
