If you could take your car to any country, which would it be?

And why did you pick that country? Because your car would look ridiculously out of place? Because the country has particular roads you want to drive on?

I am asking this due to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I had last night lol.

My car is a Subaru Legacy. Nothing special about it. If I was going to drive it somewhere I can tell you it would not be one of those towns with walls in Italy... because I'm not a moron. My car wouldn't fit.

I guess if i could carry my car anywhere I'd carry it to Germany. Near this place called the Nurburgring. Because racecar.

I have slow, RWD car in a country with low speedlimits and spectacular roads, and surfaces ranging from asphalt, gravel and snow. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else right now.

But, if I had a faster car, Germany would be the country of choice. There's every kind of road, ranging from highways with no speedlimits to mountain passes.

Also, the country my old Volvo would be most out of place would probably be Japan, but I don't want to go there just for attention.

I'd pick Chile. I would also want a different vehicle. I would like to drive across the Atacama and explore the Andes. That means a 4x4. And I will probably be crucified for saying it, but I would take a full size Diesel pickup with a mild lift that would serve as home for the duration.

If I had a fast/sporty car I would take it to Germany. But since my 99' Grand Cherokee only tops out somewhere around 120 or 150 I would take it to The Masai Mara National park in Kenya. I went there over the summer and we rode around only in modified Land Cruisers, its the ultimate automotive playground. The drivers of said Land Cruisers drive as fast as they can without their top heavy cars flipping. There are very fast dirt/sand tracks, river crossings and thick mud. It would be fun to take the Jeep there because I rarely get to take it off-road since I live in the middle of Atlanta.

New Zealand. Because it has windy roads like this, with awe-inspiring views.

Kinja'd!!!

Also, people who don't wear shoes there are considered normal.

I'd take my Land Rover Discovery to South Africa and why might you ask? I'm sitting in New York watching the snow and it's currently 70 in SA, FUCK. THIS. SHIT.

Also most of this is only accesable by 4x4.

Italy! Cruising in sunny Italy with the top down on my Alfa would be epically cool. I'd start in the south, driving the Targa Florio route, the casually make my way north, enjoying small windy roads along both coasts. I'd drive the Mille Miglia too, then head to the Cinque Terre, Modena, Maranello, Sant'Agata Bolognese, Bologna, Milan, and finally finish by touring the Italian Lakes. I'd probably throw in an F1 race at Monza if I timed it right, or spectating the Mille Miglia. And then trying to see the show at Villa d'Este. I'd leave Italy by driving over one of the many great mountain passes into Swizerland but then drop back down into France and tour the Côte d'Azure, and then... basically I want to drive all over western Europe...

Great question.

My family comes from a certain country not quite middle east and not quite europe. There used to be a WRC round and a F1 round there. The WRC round was run in the foothills along the south coast; I've seen comparable backroads in northern california and some close-but-not-quite in central texas hill country and even some great roads in southern Spain, but nothing close to this scenery, this history, this level of "I really should just drop everything and figure out how to live here". I've driven these hill roads in little euro-boxes and my parents and some of their friends would (pretend and actual) rally Fiat knockoffs (124's) on them... but I'd love to try my torsen-diff, 6-piston front BBK, year-round Direzza Z1 Star Specs (and other goodies) GTO on these roads. Would I be fast? no. Would I be entertained? Better believe it.

I would just have to work very hard to avoid becoming yet another testament to the wisdom of the great Clarkson, that which he hath imparted unto Eric Bana...

It would be fun to take the Z06 to Russia. I doubt they get many V8 super-muscle-cars over there.

It would also be fun to take the K5 over to Europe somewhere and teach those cute little Hiluxes how us 'Mericans deal with off roading.
