Ok, so a large majority of Oppo seems to have finals and yet seems to be stuck on Oppo. To help, I propose we start a community basket of car related questions so we can fulfill our fix for cars and actually learn something. To contribute, add a title with the subject (calculus, chemistry, philosophy?) and then the question below. Then reply to yourself the correct answer. Hopefully this works...

EXAMPLE

Geology:

So a car was recently uncovered in an excavation. The car was a two door sports car with the mirrors oddly placed on the front fenders. The car was visibly burnt and melted around the exterior. The ground around the car was black and almost glass like in certain areas. For full credit, name the car, the type of rock it was discovered in, what most likely happened to the car, and where in the world could this happen?

Straight from Leadbull -

"A 240z got encased in magma which solidified into obsidian. This could happen near a divergent plate boundary or a hot spot. Iceland. Hawaii.

Either that or it fell into an anthracite coal mine and burst into flames."

If 2000 grams of this C5H8 (rubber) came out of this beautiful drift, how moles of the compound were present in the air. *Bonus points if you guess the additive for the pretty colors.

29.363 moles of C5H8

I have no clue what makes the pretty colors. :(

What sets the Atkinson Cycle apart from the 4-stroke Otto and how can we achieve it? Why is it good? Why is it bad?

In a nutshell: modified valve timings. We can achieve the same effect (as in the Prius) through lengthening expansion and intake strokes in the form of delaying the opening of the exhaust valve and the closing of the intake valve.

Pros? Increased efficiency.

Cons? Low power.
