Warning: pretty boring (you guys are used to smoky wagon burnouts).
I got my M3 in late March and the snow was already gone for the year. Although I've spent a good deal of time on track with it since then, I didn't luck into any skid pad time. The Pirelli Sottozeros have been on for a few weeks now and we finally got our first snow. I promised some folks I'd post the first video I could muster, so here it is. There's some more technical, maintained sliding at the beginning and some juvenile romping around 2:00. Future videos will have outside shots and some editing, but I just got my GoPro last week and I'm still figuring stuff out. It's a long winter =)

I smiled when that V8 made sound, so cool. Also, when that truck went oppo I laughed

I thought for a second that maybe he was doing it on purpose, but it's pretty clear from him braking into the slide that he wasn't. That thing is one wheel drive with no traction control at all. I think he was trying to keep it on the road lol.

Thanks! She does indeed. She currently has a Dinan muffler but she might need to lose some catalytic converters as well. It's the best sound I've ever heard, and I want more of it =)

Nice...i take it investment in winter rubber is a must.

Yeah... It's not really optional. Small price to pay though. A good set of winters makes it possible to use max performance summers so that's the flip side. Forces your hand away from the handling purgatory of all seasons.

I thought the same since maybe he saw you doing it, then tried showing off. Either way, I'm sure he had as much fun as you did.

Nice! You were a lot more generous with the throttle than I was. Way too many concrete curbs in that lot for my liking, though... I did a 270 (or so) on an icy slope in my neighborhood yesterday morning - thankfully landed in someone's driveway and didn't take out any mailboxes.
Glad you finally got to get out and play. Wishing I would have spent more time at "my" spot when I had the chance.
I see you used my display off trick, too - ha!

The throttle is the whole point - I wish I had hogged on it a little bit harder actually!
Strangely enough I did not turn the idrive display off. I used the "spot" setting on the GoPro to make it adjust the light for the (very) bright snow outside the windshield. As a consequence of that it really darkened the interior of the car (at least as far as the electronics are concerned).
I can't believe you spun out in your neighborhood! You're SO lucky you ended up in a driveway without hitting anything! God that must have been terrifying. The snow gods looked favorably upon you this time =)
