I'm so tired of watching race series where everyone is forced back into their box of regulations and rules when they find something new or have an epic design. FIA needs to cut the crap with super tight regulations and let factories go insane. Let them produce 12 liter crazy hyper fast ultra modern races. Have a race series where any car is allowed so you have hypercars sprinting around some of the worlds greatest circuits. Get some more crazy shit, like the Deltawing damnit! I think racing is getting just a wee bit boring honestly in F1 or Le Mans. Hell, touring cars is what I get the most fun out of. But seriously, bring excitement into Le Mans, bring me things like Tyrell's six wheeler back, another chaparral cheater car. Anything. On a side note we need Can Am back too.
Ok this ones just funny. Veyron Touring car.

Race series idea:
Car has to be bought off craigslist for 500 dollars or less. But they can put whatever driveline in it they want, the rest of the car has to remain stock.

As great viewing as it would be, can you imagine what would happen when two or three drivers die every race ?
That may be an exaggeration, but just look at the death figures in F1 now as opposed to in the 1970s. Now cross that with can-am, modern engine tech, and multiply by a factor of pi to confuse your math professor. It would be shut down faster than you could blink.

Group B 2.0 - which now that I think about it is kind of what RallyCross is but I'd love to see it on the street

Galibier touring car*
I have my batshit insane racing series, it's called rallycross. Not batshit in tech, but more like the racing itself and the personalities involved. And still, it's 600+ hp AWD hatchbacks driving around a tight circuit on gravel and asphalt
But I see what you mean, I'd love to see some sort of insane free-for-all racing series.

This thread speaks directly to my soul.
I actually think the craziest would be Can-Am for EVs/Solar. Just make a base level for safety equipment, and off they go. You'd probably end up with the nutcase solar/wind turbine car trying to break the laws of physics, but that's something I will pay good money upon good money to see.

I'd amend that to include, y'know, a rollcage, but other than that, sounds good.

Well yeah obvious safety stuff, cage, seat belts, bucket seats, maybe brakes, maybe...
