BTW, this is half rant, half personal story. It is fairly long, so I will try and break it with some pics and stuff.
By friend, I mean I talk to him and used to kind of hang out with him, because he was friends with a friend. . . but I hated him. So anyway, apparently there is a possibility of him getting kicked out of his college program. "Why" you ask? Well apparently his work was very similar to someone else's. He failed the class he cheated in btw. I am laughing so hard right now.
I know, he done goofed, and I should feel bad for him but he was so annoyingly stupid. You do not understand. One example that sticks out was his extremely racist rants against Asian people. He explained how they looked strange and aren't normal because of it. . . riiiiiiggggggghtttt.
He also bought every Apple product ever. I spent a lot on a car. . . but I only have one car. He has like 4 different computers and every iteration of the iPhone AND many Ipods AND iPads. He also thinks Steve Jobs is sent from God to purge humanity of all computer sins.
Are you following this right now? He also spends so much money on travel. He is from India and his family is really rich,. Alright that's cool, he has a bit(see the word shitton) more money than me. . . only problem is he does not know the value of anything.. He travels every where in 1ST CLASS!! I mean last year he went from India to the US, to Hong Kong, back to the US, back to Thailand, then to India, then to LA, then to Chicago. . . all first class trips. He literally has no concept of money.
Alright enough about him. So, I should feel bad because this might be the end of the road for his computer scientist dream, but I don't. I feel like he had this coming. If he was a smarter person he probably wouldn't have been caught. It isn't that he cheated, I bet everyone reading this has cheated, it was the fact that he thought "Oh big project better copy someone's work, they will never notice." I feel like that makes me a terrible person. What are your guy's thoughts? I know this is bad for him, but I hated him SO much. . .
Thanks for listening/reading!

Nah, don't feel bad for him if he copied someone. If he misread the tasks or forgot something silly that's not really related to the subject you can feel sorry, but not for copying.
No concept of money also translates to the concept of how the world works and the fact that you get what you deserve. Having rich parents or being born in a rich country is luck, but the rest of your life requires hard work if you want to accomplish something.

You should be glad about it, but not celebrating. he got what he deserved, but i if you laugh about something like that i always feel it could happen something bad to me (im not superstitious) but i always have precautions of the so called karma.
and you say he's has tons of money and travels around the world (sounds like F1 season), is his father called Vijay?

If I may throw in my two cents.
You or I may disagree with his absurd love of Apple, and believe that the way he uses his money is unwise, but I don't think of him as a bad person for that.
I think of him as a bad person about his comments about Asians. That makes him sound like a dick.
Now being so stupid as to copy work in college of all places, and then hope it doesn't get noticed... that is downright idiotic, and at the end of the day it's his fault and his fault alone that he's getting kicked out. I've never been able to draw the "if you plagiarize you're a bad person" line in the sand like some people, but that doesn't change that he did this and he's going to face the real-world consequences and you shouldn't feel bad about that.

Yeah, no mercy on the cheating or racist rants. Colleges have a way of dealing with that kind of thing. I'm sure he'll find out how.

This acquaintance of yours got his just desserts, and you're right to feel satisfied about it. You don't need to feel bad for this person - he made a choice to take the easy way out, and now will have to deal with the consequences of that choice.
The rest sounds like jealousy. He'll take his family's money somewhere else and start over in a new school, and then you can forget he ever existed.

Why would you feel bad for him? Hell, you should be delighted by his failure if you hate him so much. I have a few obnoxious "friends" like this (minus the money. We all po' folk over here) and I would love to see them fail. It's just karma. He sounds like a douche and he probably had it coming.

Pit sounds like he literally cheated...there's nothing to feel bad for. He brought it on himself.
When I was in high school I had an English teacher accuse me of plagiarism because a paper I wrote sounded like she'd read it before. She most certainly had: about a week before she read and gave me feedback on my rough draft. If it was something like that, feel bad because that's megagigabullshit.

Considering, on the very first lecture this year, my Cognitive Science professor gave a small speech about plagiarism that sounded similar to Liam Neeson's small plea/threat in Taken, I wouldn't feel bad.

Well, it sounds like he doesn't need college, he doesn't need a job, its not like he's getting kicked out on his ear and will have to clean tables at some shithole just to afford to rent something better than a cardboard box on a street corner. If you want to feel sorry for someone find someone who was not born with a silver spoon in their mouth and isn't a dick.

Nah, I'd say you're good, this dude sounds like a major idiot. While his love for Apple is more a matter of personal taste, there's no justifying all the other stuff. Racist remarks, using his parents' money like he breathes and cheating makes him come across, to me at least, as an arrogant piece of shit who probably thinks he's entitled to everything... I dunno but I always thought a fair measure of humility is a far more important quality than acting like owning the world.

As an Asian...fuck that guy. I'm absolutely sick and tired of people making comments about how I look different, etc. Also, it's ridiculous how making snarky comments about my race is a joke, but everybody finds it racist when black people are oppressed.
I hope the next flight he gets on ends up like that Korean flight. With him dying.

I feel any hate towards any Asian (particularly the "bigger" ones) is like completely acceptable, but any hate towards any other race is like the ultimate crime of eternity.

He goes to a school full of Asian people as well. He says doesn't hate them, he is just "telling the truth." It is okay, he is one funky looking mofo. He has no room to talk about how people look.

I am a bit jelly of his money, not going to lie. He does use it in the dumbest ways though. It would be fine if it was his money, but it isn't. Either way, what are you going to do?

I don't really mind a person liking Apple, but he takes it to another level. I can't really explain it, but it is literally like Apple is something sent from God, and everything they do is right. . . no matter what.
But yeah, he is a dick about Asian people. No one else surprisingly, just Asian people.

I was almost accused of cheating on homework, but I was actually talking to someone about the quiz, which is on the homework. Sometimes teachers always assume the worst.

Most of my friends are poor or middle class. I used to be the "richest" of the group but I am just slightly above middle class. We started talking to him, and could not believe how much money he had. It was ridiculous.

Well, it isn't that he likes Apple, he literally treats them like some sort of higher being. It is kind of hard to explain. You have to experience it first hand.

Haha, I don't think so. He despises cars, particularly loud cars. His dad is a well known surgeon in India, and his mom is a doctor. . . So much income right there.

I think he had it coming, if I knew someone like him I would probably feel exactly like you do. Don't feel bad that his dream is likely over. Maybe his parents will cut him off too and he'll see the light of reality.
