I'd always wondered about that guy! I walk through his apartment's parking lot everyday so I've seen the progression of the mods he's put on his car, from the wheels to the rear lights to the springs. Tell him someone on the internet likes it! And ask where he got that shifter knob, that thing's badass.

He is no longer on springs and has moved to coilovers, which I am super jelly of. I am not sure where he got the knob from, but apparently it adds weight(the knob) and makes slotting into gear a bit easier.

Sweet damn, cross my heart... I'm going to buy one of these in ten years.

He may have lowered it too much on those coilovers, it takes him about 15 seconds to get over the hump at the entrance to his parking lot haha. Other than that, he's done very nice, especially with the Toyota badges. What other mods are you planning for your FR-S? I sense a bit of a rivalry here haha.

My mod list? Well. . . let us begin. Wheels, tires, coilovers, rear lower control arms, front camber bolts, drop in filter, master cylinder brace, pads, new brake fluid, something with the taillights. . . just a ton really. These are just a short "get done in a year list" which I hopefully will.

I am not planning on dropping the car as much as he did though, that is a bit too low for me. I don't want to worry about scraping.

You weren't kidding about "a ton." But definitely a good thought about the suspension. Purdue's a terrible place for lowered cars, even stock my front air dam scrapes some.

Plus, lowering a car can ruin some of its handling characteristics. You have to be really careful about that.

Nah, I like low-powered cars that you really have to work...

I just want a red FR-S with a stock motor (maybe just some minor tweaks) and a suspension/wheel/tire combo set up for grip.

These are my favorite. Have you decided on rim size yet? These would look fantastic in 18's.

I like a nicely powerful car. This car does not need anything over 300hp. 350 is a good amount still but a bit of over kill. 400 is starting to make it undriveable, and 500 and up is a bad idea waiting to happen.

I know a guy who knows a guy who has a BRZ putting down 425 hp at 22 psi (pictured).

Kinja'd!!!

Stock everything except rods and pistons, he says.

I don't know, I don't really like the idea of bolt on turbos and superchargers, especially when half of the car's power relies on it. I know it's the easiest way to breed power but it just feels... unnatural.

I haven't owned/driven enough cars to really make a statement but as of now, I kind of just like modest power and N/A. Which is why I want an FR-S :D

I want a nice 250whp FRS or 110hp up from stock. It should be nice and brisk then. If I can get it NA than I will stay NA. Although I guess you will need cams, pistions, and like a billion other things. Plus I bet you engine longevity will be sacrificed when doing this. More than likely I will get a nice supercharger kit once they are proven to be nice and reliable. So far it seems that way. One person has 40k miles on it and lots and lots of track time nothing yet!

I don't like the idea of changing the way the car takes air in either. If it was meant to be NA then it shall stay that way. Only problem is, is that staying NA is expensive if you want to make more power which is why many people don't do it. Plus at some point you will start sacrificing engine life. With moderate boost (9psi)you can probably have the engine around for much much longer, and still make the same if not more power.

if something is well known for being reliable why the hell wouldn't you go with it, no downsides then.

Exactly! Plus with 300hp turns this car into a rocket, so you don't need 1000psi just so it makes it faster.
