I doubt it was his fault, you never know what someone does after they buy your car, which is why cars are sold AS IS with no implied warranty.
It could have just been bad luck, or the guy who bought it could have done something really stupid.

Of course it wasn't his fault. I'm just looking at this from the buyer's perspective. The buyer is probably quite angry with MonkeyPuzzle at the moment.

True story: One of the cars I had in high school was a '66 Mustang Fastback. After I bought it, I did a bunch of engine work to it and completely redid the interior (upholstery, carpet kit, new headliner, the works). I sold it to the little brother of a buddy and it caught fire (electrical) in the middle of the night sitting on his driveway two weeks later. I felt super bad, too, but ... shit happens. You have no way to know something like this is going to happen so don't be hard on yourself.
