"Who needs sway bars anyway" (Astonman)

I am really loving how people are complaining about the new mustang at all. Ford basically took the basket of wants that everyone had for the new Mustang and made them all reality. Turbo 4 , "sure thing", 420HP Roaring V8, "you got it". Decent to excellent MPG's at all levels," you wish is my command", Independent rear suspension "well you've been asking long enough why not", Manual transmission and what promises to be a track burning suspension and brake package "damn straight!" and at the end of the day, the whiny internet whines. WAAA the back kinda looks like a different car if you squint waaaa that color red has been used before... waaaa its not a real muscle/pony car any more... and this was after only seeing one leaked fuzzy picture with a crease
Personally I am loving the shit out of it so far and I can't wait till I get to see/drive one. Sorry for the rant, Its been a long week and this shit pisses me off.
P.S. Some people may recall my tireless efforts to hate on the new Cherokee and call me a hypocrite. But that is a different ball game entirely no one wants or needs another shitty CRV and if your going to make one, don't put an iconic badge on it like "Cherokee" to boost sales to morons.

I think your criticism of the Cherokee is fair, at least the Mustang is maintaining its legacy.

I hope the new Cherokee also means a new Comanche.

That's it folks, pack it up, post of the day. Good summary of how I'm feeling as well. Boo hoo it "isn't a Mustang" or it "looks like a Fusion/Taurus". News flash, Ford makes the Mustang a Mustang and even if you don't "recognize" it as one, the horse remains in the grill. Write a letter to them and tell them you don't plan to buy one. I do. And it looks like two other FORD cars that IMO look great. Brand identity, it makes sense.

I will not buy this epic failure of a vehicle because the diameter of the mirror posts mounted to the doors is too large.
Welcome to the internet Ford.

If the 2015 drives as good as it looks, I think it will be the most perfect mustang yet. Keeping my 2012 forever though. No way in hell do I want to be in car payment hell for a good long while.

And the electric windows best roll down in 14.34 seconds or less, or you've just lost yourself a sale Ford!

I think that's a good thing, it's basically a badass looking Fusion coupe with somewhat of a Taurus SHO front-end.

I've yet to see the Cherokee, but it may well be that like some people have pointed out, it may just look better in person.
That said, the new 'Stang look pretty buff, IMHO. Some peeps just need a reason to bitch. Those same people needs to get out of Mommy's basement once in a while.

Yep and for (some) purists that will be an issue, isn't for me. Plus once you get a few folks into a dealership to look at Mustang, they might end up with a Fusion or vice versa. From a sales standpoint it just makes sense, build in some basic brand identity across all of your cars and sell more cars (assuming they all look good which isn't always the case, looking your way Acura...).

If they base it off the current Cherokee, they can burn it like the rest of them. If they sell a shitload of the new Cherokees and can afford to make a proper Comanche or even better the Mighty FC, then it will all be worth it.

What kind of barbaric world do you live in where 14.34 second roll down times are acceptable? Perhaps you should consider killing yourself and your family, because this is the internet after all.

It really is repulsive in person, and when seeing it driven. I even took one for a ride and driving it it is like driving a fucking Camry. Burn all of them. ( I will hold on to this hate until the end of time)

I could see the Fiat Strada turning into the new Comanche - it's already being built, and the addition of the 3.2L V6 and Cherokee's 4WD offerings shouldn't be too difficult.

Also, Hilter designed this car. Just thought I'd get that out of the way already.

I think the new FP article says it all:
"But Ford has been guilty of riding on that Mustang sentiment for far too long and hasn't turned out a truly revolutionary car since that first car 50 years ago."
I think this is spot-on, the Mustang was revolutionary, it's high time they did something revolutionary with the Mustang once again. I am very happy they did. Part of what made the Mustang so awesome is that it was something that hadn't been done before. But after that Ford stuck with the same Formula over and over, I'm glad they are breaking the trend.

I'll cop to disliking the rear, even profoundly. The change from this:
To this:
Isn't as horrible as this:
to this:
But I dislike it for the same reason, quite a bit. Actually, in the case of the Mustang, I didn't even like the first that much, unlike the C3.

This thought came to my brain last night; now that the new Mustang has been revealed, how long until someone glues a rotary into it?
Bonus points for a MR/RR rotary Mustang.

Much like your slow ass windows, the internet is a race to the bottom. The new failure of a Mustang is a vehicle for professional internet whiners like me, so I won this round.
That's how the internet works. Or not.
This is all in jest. :)

From the side, that car looks like what the Z4 should have looked like... and still looks mustang-y.

2) the Mustang is sexy as hell.

Heh, anything like my hate for my Chevy Venture? Fuck GM for burying a battery under a fuse box, which I actually have to look up how to remove safely lest I crack/short any wires, and double-fuck them for arranging the battery in such a way that I can see and reach the positive terminal, but can't even reach the negative terminal because of the rats nest of other wires in the way. All this making me take a day off (which I really can't afford), so I can rectify this situation.
Have I mentioned it's -30C? Fuck you GM. Sideways. Up your pooper. With a rusty jagged hammer.
Yours,
Zad.

Honestly not a fan of the design, but I've never been a Mustang guy.
That said, the plethora of options that will be available is fantastic. If every automaker let us choose what we wanted in a car like this, the world would be a better place.

It grew on me too (the Cherokee). Hated at first, but now don't. And combined with real capability it's pretty attractive over the other CUVs in its class.
Still, it does have ALL THE HEADLAMPS!

I will say this. Look at the mirrors on this car. Now look at the ones on the Camaro and Corvette. The point of this is that I like cake and pie. Mmmm.
Oh, and I almost forgot... GM can't design a decent mirror.
