One of my former students shared this with me so I'll pass it along, his original text below.
"M120 v12 to W140 swap for all you Benz people. 6.0 Liter V12 with 415hp transplanted into 4 door sedan."

It was an option, I assume the car he has gotten his hands on originally didn't have one. Not a Benz person myself so I had to Google the question as well.

I mean, I put a M103 into my W201 that originally had a M102. I understand the thought so it's not total redundant if that M120 has something special or nice about it.
Do all the maintenance now and it'll be sweet for you.
The only difference is that the M103 I chose, it was a 3.0 liter instead of a 2.6 so it never naturally came with the car.
I have half a mind to undo all of that an source a C36 M104 to put in it but at that point why don't I just keep a C36 as it is?

The M120 is a gorgeous engine. Incredibly smooth delivery of power, idles very low (600ish RPM), and when you're gentle with it, it can provide fairly reasonable mileage for the size of the engine. I drove an SL600 for about 3.5 weeks while I waited for my car to get out of the shop, and I was averaging 17MPG out of a 2.5 ton sports convertible. Not bad at all.
For the record, the S Class did have the M120 as an option in the S600 sedan. Even later models of the S600 eventually had a biturbo option as well. I met a collector who has one (or did at the time) and he loved the cars build quality and feel of the car.
I'm not sure if the S500 had a V12, but the S600 definitely did have the M120.

I'd love to get behind one.
TBH, I love the engine in my car (chrysler EGG). It runs very well, not powerful really but it's a wonderful engine.
