Lots of people are expressing excitement for a turbo I-4 when something like this will exist for not all that much more scratch (assuming the turbo I-4 is not the base engine).

the 3.7 and 5.0 will be the only engines at first, then a 2.3 EB is coming above the 3.7 and a rumored twin turbo Coyote for the really hot stuff.

Living at 5,500 feet, and routinely traveling up to 10,000 feet, I will almost always opt for the synthetic atmosphere a forced induction engine produces.
Almost

A 7000+ rpm V8 that puts out 400+hp is something I would prefer over just about any I4. I'm a bit of a V8 apologist, and I love screaming high-rpm NA engines, so yeah. But a turbo I4 would make for an interesting segment. I wonder how the reduced weight will work for autocrossing?

Yeah if I find myself in the market for a Mustang, I'm going to go with the v8. But... That turbo 4 would make for some interesting swaps, like into an e30...

Coyote is an awesome engine. Just wish it wasn't so HUGE. Such a bitch to work on in the 'Stang. Earlier mod motors are not much easier. My friends '97 Cobra was such a hassle to do simple things on. The '13 Stang isn't much better. I hope they make some more room in the engine bay on the new one.

Or just put the V8 in there and call it a day.

I'm willing to bet that it would be the top-tier Mustang engine, or that they will massively reduce displacement to under 4.5L. That could all be very interesting, though.

7000 RPMs is screaming high for you?
Oh you poor thing...

I don't even know what I'd do with the 300hp the 4 has. After having 110 horse power for so long everything seems fast.

I'm sensing a great deal of snark, which is not appreciated. I said "I love screaming high-rpm NA engines," which was not saying "This particular engine is a screaming high-rpm engine." Check your reading comprehension. 7000 rpm is high, especially for a largish V8. 8000 is generally screaming V8 territory.
I will tolerate no further snark.

I don't think the trinity or condor will find their way into the new mustang

The second one was better though

They will when speed shops get their hands on base Mustangs and there are no performance parts for their motors.
Although it's a real shame Ford isn't using the Trinity for anything else.

Or you'll have a shop like Livernois who, when the 3.5 ecoboost came out, tore down an engine and engineered their own forged internals.

I'm one of the few people that can snark with the old asshole brigade.
