I've been home sick with an eeevil virus for the past two days (or mild food poisoning from my mother-in-law's wild boar stuffing, which if the case, was so worth it), and today woke up feeling pretty OK.

So I did something.

Kinja'd!!!

Note the circle in the lower right portion of the photo. Yep. She's inspected and registered. The Alfa is legal, boys! I need to swap the fuel filter and adjust the idle, but otherwise she's topped with fresh, clean fluid, lubricant, and coolant and is ready to play. Just in time for winter. I live in Austin, so that's actually a good thing when it comes to cars with no AC. It's 86 today.

You in the DFW area? I'd love to see one of these. And getting that inspection sticker is probably the greatest weight lifting off shoulder experience I've had since moving out here!

Dude! That is sweeeet. There is an 8C spyder in Houston that's been showing up pretty often to the C&C gatherings, it would have been super neat if you lived here too, that way you could park next to it!!!

NICE!

Also, you're not the only Austin area opponaut battling some horrible virus. Stef was down for a week and I've felt shitty since Saturday evening. I THINK I'm feeling better today but I thought that yesterday too and then spent the night alternating between sweating like a pig and shivering like an orphan in a Dickens novel.

Way more productive than I was! I had some nasty food poisoning black friday, and I was just rolling around on the floor at my girlfriends house in brutal pain for 4 hours, then I drove home (girlfriend rode with me, her dad followed, to make sure I made it home safe) and then I rolled around in my bed for another hour, then I sat in the kitchen feeling like shit, and after some dragon breathing, I'm doing better. Saturday I woke up and tore down the PS3, then played video games all day (rare for me). Sunday I was finally recovered and sort of feeling okay. I'm still somewhat out of it. Glad it was worth it for you, just wasn't for me...never eating at that diner again...ever.

Nice to see an alfa! My mom had one years ago...the new 4C/8C look gorgeous to me, and sound incredible! There was one for sale around my girlfriends house for a long time, but I have no place to get a project car right now...probably wont for a couple years..

I thought I might have the flu. We drove home from Victoria Saturday morning, leaving earlier than expected because MIL came down ill the night before. My wife and I were out on the town (in Victoria... shudder) celebrating our anniversary, oblivious to the fact she was writing on the bathroom floor while our daughters watched Finding Nemo on repeat for 6 hours.

By Saturday night I was making potty rockets like I was trying to beat the Russians to the moon. Drove to CVS to get some Imodium and retched in the parking lot, causing a nice looking older lady to barf.

Kinja'd!!!

By the time I got home I had an almost 102 degree fever. Went to bed, woke up numerous times with aches so bad I ate a leftover oxycontin. Then fever, pain, and 'sploadies for the next two days. The fever finally broke last night so I'm just taking it easy at home, slowing reintroducing solid foods and napping.

Still had time to get the Alfa legal!

And amazingly, my wife nor my girls came down with the shit! Amazing.

Austin.

This was the re-inspection. It failed the first go 'round because the light in the dash that tell you the hand brake is engaged, as if the lever three inches from the shifter wasn't a solid enough indicator, wasn't working. Seriously. Cleaned the connector and the switch with some DeOxit, and voila.

I got sick on the drive home from Houston. We made it to Bastrop and then I decided that my wife should drive the rest of the way.

I haven't had any horrible GI symptoms. However, I have been coughing up large chunks of lung butter in BMW Phoenix Yellow (minus the metal flake) and it hurts like hell every time. All the other muscles in my body have been taking turns aching for no good reason as well.

It's 86 today.

Yeah, but Jack Frost is going to kick us in the ass this weekend . And I have to drive to Abilene on Friday-Sunday.

Congrats on the Alfa. You know, you can put those stickers side-by-side, rather than one on top of the other. A little less obnoxious when looking out the window. Of course, you'll have to wait a year to do that. It's a little thing, I know.

Yeah. Today. It desperately needs to be washed, polished and waxed, and there are several paint chips from tools and flying trim pieces during reassembly, as well as a dozen other cosmetic issues, but screw it. Maybe I'll get a video up?

Shoot, I was down this morning with Idon'tevenknowwhatbutmystomachisfjkdlsajfdkasl.

Curled up in a little ball. Very thankful there was a long meeting to call into that required little abdominal movement.

I like it up here. Close enough to be in Austin, but with County services. I'm glad I don't have to deal with APD, or AISD.

I hear you there. All the folks I've met from TCSO have been top notch people. Same w/ the Travis County Fire.

Since I ended up officing at the track, the commute from Buda is sooooooo much easier.

Holy shit the bed, I was so sick this weekend, too, and barely getting back to normal now. I knew I wasn't the only one around here.
