Jalopnik keeps posting about Paul Walker, but doesn't give a proper write up to Roger Rodas. Walker got into the real racing scene with Rodas later on; co-owning Rodas race team. He also did a lot of charitable things for the communities, but his acting career is what gives him more recognition than the driver.

Roger Rodas was a driver in the Pirelli World Challenge. He made it there by winning and notching his way up through the Porche-only series of Pirelli's Driver Cup. He probably would have made rookie of the year, but he missed a few races. He also raced with Walker at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Outside of the track Rodas helped Walker create the foundation 'Reach Out World Wide' which would help disaster victims.

I'm sad that both of these individuals lost their lives. My condolences to their friends and families. Rest easy my fellow Jalop.

Here's an idea: let's stop posting so much about two individuals who died while partaking in a risky activity.

I mean condolences to the families and all that, it sucks but shit. Four people died in a train crash yesterday. Countless more probably died driving to or from thanksgiving with their families. People die of natural causes all the time. Brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers....

I get that Paul was important to many people here. I realize that I'm going to get flamed for saying what I'm saying, but I stand by it. Paul and Roger lived good lives, but also put their own lives at risk willingly. I hate to make assumptions, but given the aftermath one has to assume they were exceeding speed limits and pushing the edge. They certainly weren't just commuting like the four people killed on that train or countless more who lose their lives everyday.

No kidding? That's awesome. From the research I did on him I must of missed that. All the sites I read hammered down on his involvement in the GTS series and that because of his Porche that's how him and Paul met.

He owned Paul's old car and Paul noticed at one of the events the two of them were at. That got the talks going between the two of them and the rest is history from there.

Ya I came across a few articles linking him to the BOSS302s racing cars. I also read that as well.

I understand your stance. But given the Jalopnik community recognizes fellow parished drivers I figured I'd throw it out there since no one has said a peep about him.

I hadn't participated until this point. Thought I'd throw out my opinion for what it's worth

I respect that and it's certainly a step in the right direction.
