So I have a BMW 323i SE Touring and a Porsche 924S - both manual and rear wheel drive. Oh, and a Triumph Street Triple bike, which I used today as it's quite warm - for December. But from Friday onwards we're going to be getting some kind of freak 'corridor from the Arctic' sweeping down across the UK.

Anyway this is just a catch up that I write every now and again about the goings on with the various cars in our family - including my wife's Land Rover.

Here it is

Why would you want to winter in anything BUT a rear wheel drive car? =) Except four wheel drive maybe.

It makes for excellent drifting at the moment. Probably uncontrollable drifting when the snow comes next week!

That's mine. I feel bad as it has to live outside the drive

As someone who dailied a manual Mustang GT in the snow, it was quite fun. Just get some snow tires, and you're set.

I was just about to - and then Infiniti came back to me this morning and said they'd lend me a QX70 for half of December. Sooooooooo now I'm not so sure if it's worth the £££

I miss my 5.0 fun in the snow, but I do feel a lot more comfortable with my Impreza driving 120miles a day to and from work in inclement weather. Especially since I live in the NE corridor. I wouldn't mind as much if I didn't have such a long commute and or lived in an area that didn't get possible snow fall for a 1/4 of the year.

This is about to be my fourth winter in a RWD car, wouldn't have it any other way. Also I've only done it on all-season tires.

This one is from a few nights ago.

Ha, thanks. Although I'm not looking forward to the merc repair bills that will eventually come.
