My theory on why some people find pleasure in others failing/being injured/dying (especially if that person was rich or famous): miserable people can't stand others being successful. They know they'll never amount to anything so they find pleasure in trolling on the internet. It makes them feel good for a second when they say something terrible and get feedback. The rare likes they do get make them feel validated because there are other sociopaths like them out there. And the outrage from everyone else probably doesn't make them feel bad. They probably feed on it in some way.

But it's still better to admonish them than not say anything as maybe they go away quicker if they tire of getting more negative feedback to their comment than likes or agreements.
