From my grandparents house on I-65 toward Indy. I saw a car (which I thought was a Dodge Charger but I wasn't quite sure) in the rearview mirror coming up pretty fast. I wasn't in a giant rush to get home, so after I passed a Semi I got back over into the right lane and was driving at about 5 over the limit. As the car passes I realize it's an officer, but he was going faster than I was so he couldn't have possibly ticketed me (Plus I'm usually pretty careful, a ticket on a learner's permit ins't exactly a great idea for insurance prices). He slows down a little and after about 10 minutes he's maybe 40 - 50 feet in front of me. All of a sudden this Honda Odyssey and what I think was a Pontiac Vibe flying past at probably 90 (and this was in a 70 or 75 zone). I looked over at my Mom and said, "This should get interesting." The Vibe sees the officer and slows down, but the Odyssey doesn't until it's absolutely too late. The officer got right behind him and pulled him over so quickly it was almost comical.
Just a reminder for those of you who aren't quite home yet, just be careful. That officer is there waiting to ticket you! But it's also not worth endangering your family (remember, almost all the Odysseys are carrying around kids) just to get home a little faster. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Oppo!

Just a helpful tip- Officers who are driving faster than you are driving can still ticket you.

If they're cruising along faster than you and still ticket you, it's your civic right, nay... duty.. to run them over.

That's a good point, but I've never had any trouble with officers being unreasonable, nor have my parents. Like I said I was only doing 5 over the limit, which is generally a good rule to follow because no officer who is reasonable will pull you over, plus the ticket would be incredibly small. That said, good point.

You're right about being 5 over. I just didnt want you to think a speeding cop won't pull you over. I once was doing 90mph and saw a car flying up behind me. I was in the slow lane. It was a cop. He proceeded to pull over me AND the car in front of me. I estimated he was doing 115-120mph when he caught up.

I got your point. I don't know where you live (although sounds like the US) but like I said, no one I've talked to has had any problem with the cops in Indianapolis. That said, I'll be a little more careful with that limit now that you say that. :)

Im from Pittsburgh but the ticket was driving through VA. I got hit with a $365 fine (Brings new meaning to a dollar a day.) and I wasnt allowed to drive through VA for 90 days.
On another note, have you been to the Indy 500 yet?

That's a rough break. I haven't. We've tried to go to qualifying/pole day but we've never actually made it. I'm looking forward to going sometime. I may need to put it on a Christmas list for it to happen.

Yeah you'll win, but you'll be shot later, so is it really worth it?
