I seem to have become enamored with this 72' Sonett, and I can't find any others for sale at all. Oppo, what do you think? Will be a 3rd car for being hipster now and then. Here is the kicker. If I buy it I will drive it back to CA from Ohio

In Ohio? Where?
Not if I get to it first...(I'm in Dayton)
That would be an epic road trip. I'm sure if you took decent pics and wrote some words they'd FP that.

That's so cool. Can imagine maintenance would suck, but that's very unique.

You should have a word with NinetyQ, see if this one's still for sale:

If the condition is as good as the pictures imply, way NP!

Needs a bigger nose.

I would rather have something like this than a 240Z

Needs more overhang

I know, but I would hate to be stranded during winter with a box of gremlins.

It's much more interesting, that comes at a price.

This car is dirt cheap, which is why I'm apprehensive.

Good luck. They're nice little cars; I'd like to have one myself some day.

Maintenance costs are realistically the reason. It doesn't have that many miles, and it's an old car. Just the reality of things.

I wouldn't mind throwing a Chevrolet 2.0 turbo from a cobalt ss in there sometime down the line, that should help with any reliability issues.

I'm very mixed bag with those, since I'm kind of in the same boat with my MR2. Makes it a great drivers car and easy to maintain, but pretty much rapes the resale value. It's going to be much more expensive to rebuild my engine than it will be to swap in a camry V6, but I'm still probably going to do it.
