I can't be the only person who thinks a '37/'38 LaSalle would be cool with an air-cooled boxer eight/boxer twelve.

Subaru boxer engine, and then DD it.

Well, if one was putting something annoyingly practical and water-cooled in it, the advantage of a boxer is somewhat lost. In that case, one might as well be running a modern Cadillac V8.
The previous years of La Salle had chrome caps sticking out on the sides - if one were to fit *this*
plus a few more cylinders properly dressed up, one would have something that harmonized with the remaining chrome strakes down the side, echoed previous year LaSalle design, and would make use of the long narrow hood in cooling effectively. It would also be powerful (if not very much so for displacement) and extremely reliable - without taking up much more weight. It would run smoothly, and with a very different exhaust note than anything else on the road.

Wow, I probably don't know nearly as much about engines as you, I chose Subaru engine because I know they're reliable.. Thanks for the engine info!
