Hey Oppo, what have you done for aftermarket fog lights on your car?

$270 for an OEM setup on my Cruze, so I'm curious to see what other options you guys have done :)

If you're battling fog and inclement weather conditions, you'll want a higher contrast bulb, like yellow. I've had good luck with yellow PIAA bulbs in fogs and they work great.

Interesting. I've never really been a big fan of contrasting fog light and headlight colors, just looks a bit off to me.

I have the wiring and mounting points for fogs, but haven't seen the need as of yet. The stock lights on the cruiser are pretty solid, especially since when you turn on the highs, it doesn't turn off the lows. You can sometimes find kits that allow that on GM products. I know they made them for the trucks a number of years ago.

That's what fog lights are for though, although as of late, fog lights have been relegated as auxiliary lighting, even if that's not what they were initially designed for.

Higher contrast bulbs help you differentiate what is directly in front of your car when it is rainy, foggy or even when it is snowing. Having the same color bulb as your driving lights, or even worse, having HIDS in your fog lights can actually have a detrimental effect on your driving as it reflects more light back into the cabin, where it can constrict your pupils, the last thing you want when driving at night, or in poor weather conditions.

Put some yellows in your fogs, then if you really need more light for seeing in the distance, find some other kind of auxiliary lighting and wire it into your high beams.

I've seen those, they look to be a tasteful integration of LEDs (vs the stick-ons or purple/blue LEDs). I almost bought some last year. They're cheaper than most foglights too.

I wonder if they're legal in Ontario. They probably don't give off much light though.
