...it's amazing how a set of wheels improves the look. Sorry for the potato pic.

That car needs bigger wheels. Bigger than the wheel wells can accommodate

Was it a TDI stick shift in the Chicago area?

Ah, there was a dealer near me that had one like this. I wondered why a dealer would actually think they could sell a TDI stick shift wagon by sprucing it up with those wheels. The car just oozes practicality, not flashy wheels. I can't even see the typical TDI JSW driver doing that. I would expect those wheels on a golf.

Yeah those wheels aren't even available anymore from VW. You used to be able to have multiple wheel choices for the Golf/Jetta Sportwagen. Now it is just whatever comes with the trim. Which is actually better, because if I where to get one I would get the base TDI 6MT witht the 16"s save money by not getting the Sunroof and "17s just go to Tire Rack and pick out my own rims. That way I could have two sets. :)

Yea. I was interested in the car, but not so much the wheels. I told the dealer if they put the factory wheels back on and remove the $2k plus for dealer installed wheels and tires and then work a bit on the price they might have a sale. Because come on, diesel stick shift wagon. They told me it really wouldn't be any cheaper. Um, the way I see it, the sticker price includes a set of wheels, and the dealer installed options sticker showed a $2k or so mark up for the black wheels and tires. Keep your wheels and sticker and pretend they were never mounted on the car. No dice.
