I snagged up the PC version on Rivals last night on a good deal. It's still on sale on Origin for $35, or $25 with a coupon. Pretty fun "next-gen" game, and I didn't have to shell out for a console to get it! Anyone else playing it? I'm open to adding people to my friends list to get some Autolog rivalries going. Interested?

I was tossing up getting the game. I really liked the previous games like it but my backlog is so deep I'm having a hard time justifying even the sale price.

I really like it. It's just a bummer that the online falls so short.
5 players on that big ass map? I rarely see anyone. It's like, come on. It's a PC game. Add server support, crank up the player count, and for the love of all that is good, please unlock the framerate and add AA support.

Reading this I don't really want to : http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/need-f…

I've been boycotting it because they won't let T10 use Porsches...

Reading that I don't really want to read Metacritic. So the framerate is locked @30: My pc isn't top of the line so with mid-high graphics I can only realistically expect 30fps. If you want 60, the shortcut/target fix has been updated to not slow down the game, you can look it up on the forums. Unskippable cutscenes: They are kind of annoying, but they're all in the first 15 minutes of the game. Once you sit through it once it's mostly fine. UI poor: That's subjective, but it's fine for me, though I play with a 360 controller. Maybe with a mouse and keyboard it's worse, but I can't imagine playing a racing game with mouse and keyboard in general, even an arcadey one. Bad colors/graphics: I don't know what they were looking at, the game looks pretty darn good to me. No AA is a bummer, but again, it's fine for me on a 21" monitor @1080p.
I hope I don't sound like I'm affiliated with EA. That thread has some good points, but there's also a whole lot of internet snowballing. The last NFS I've played was Hot Pursuit from two years ago. Rivals does feel very similar and I probably wouldn't pay full price for it, but at this point I'm not regretting getting it.

Is it EA that's doing it? I had no idea...

Yea, it's running on the Battlefield 4 engine, where's 64 player multiplayer?!

EA owns the license and refuses to sublicense it to T10 (though they did after a few months for Forza 4) even though T10 sublicenses their Ferrari license.
