I really wanted to like this guy, because if "Lady 7A" is the bad person, someone has to be the good guy right? But in the end he is just a jerk and a bully.

I don't think publicly shaming a self-centered ass hat constitutes bullying. If anything she was the bully as she was berating people who couldn't defend themselves and he was merely standing up for them.

Edit: also hopefully she'll be nicer to people because of this

Honestly, I'd be probably doing almost the same as this guy. You may disagree with what he did but it was an excellent and peaceful way to vent out anger.
I wouldn't go as far, though.

He bullied a person who thoroughly deserved it. I would've been much more polite myself though, and would've left the dick jokes out.

Ridiculing her like this may have been a bit excessive but I thought it was funny. If I was on that flight, I would have gotten her attention, said "we're all trying to get to our families so please sit down and be quiet so we can get going" and sit back down.

Reply to edit - doubt it. She sounded incredibly narcissistic, utterly incapable of reason and certainly incapable of understanding what other people do for her as part of her work. Of COURSE the airline was delaying the flight simply to inconvenience Diane....wasn't that obvious? It certainly was obvious to her....

Though I'd have not put the 'dick' references in the notes...

Erhmm... Someone making a utterly obvious point of needing to be with family, because Thanksgiving is the one who is in the wrong here.

Just about everyone on that airplane has Thanksgiving on their mind. Just about everyone is on their way to be with family or friends, or at least wants to.

If you then go about ranting, complaining and moaning about the very fact, rubbing it in while it is perfectly clear to everyone else... well, pretty please SHUT THE VERY FUCK UP. It means that you're extremely obnoxious, selfish and ignorant.

Oh, and on top of that, you physically assault someone. For giving wine and vodka (which she really doesn't have to drink) and a few offensive words on paper?

To me it's very clear who the jerk and the bully is. It's not Elan Gale. It's Lady 7A.
