Only if you share it with others!

Oh hell, who am I kidding? Only if you share it with me!

Kinja'd!!!

As a kid, I grew up in a BX 16 TRS, a BX 19 GT and a BX 19 TZI. (And afterwards, two Xantia 1.8 16Vs) And I drive a Xsara now.

I will! I'll only use it in the weekends.

I grew up (well, I was 17-18) in a BX 19 TZD and drive a 406 coupe now. LPG, like your Xsara if I recall correctly.

Yep, a 2001 Xsara VTR Coupé with a "Campingaz" install.

For now. Because Should I?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

So within another 10k km, it will change. Can't tell what it'll be just yet.

Found one on Hemmings with just 23k miles for$9900. It's even located in America!

Damn.

I hadn't seen that post. If you want hydropneumatic suspension the C5 is the only way to go I guess, assuming you want a newer car than your Xsara. With the newer C5 you'll have to go out of your way to get one with the correct suspension though. Many if not most have the wokkels . A C6 might be feasible as well, but it's not a wagon so not as good as a family car. It'll cost you in tax/insurance/fuel, but you'll be compensated enormously.

If you're willing to compromise on the suspension and not willing to spend much a late (2003-2004?) 406 wagon could be a great option as well. They're more durable than the generation of PSA vehicles it was replaced by. Furthermore, it's a Xantia in disguise.
After having done basic maintenance (filters, fluids) the APK of my own 406 after 25k km in a year: €40. One exhaust mounting object needed replacing, that was it. It's at 195k km now.

I'm not a fan of the BX but I would be lying if I told you that my interest wasn't arisen when I saw one GTi for sale for 100 euros and reportedly only missing a hydraulic pipe.

That's a very nice one. An early BX in such a condition, especially a GT, would command a hefty price in Europe as well. Definitely a collectors car.
