Forza 5???? Maybe

GT6 looks flat and dull and lifeless.
F5 pops. Textures on the ground seem real and have depth.

Even as a GT guy, I have to say Forza looks a tad better. I'm also guessing the horrible braking/sliding sound if from GT6.

They both look pretty damn lifelike... But they look completely different... What is life?!?... Who am I?!?

Same thoughts here- textures, lighting, all popped on the Fiveza version. The clouds looked amazing too! Making environments look that good is hard.
Now if only they could stop with all of the micro transaction/DLC bullshit...

GT6 has too much sun to look like a realistic England. Plus they're on different console generations so they aren't all that comparable.

Any chance of doing this same thing but having the weather/time of day set the same? The cloud cover could be making it look flatter, while the direct sunlight might be affecting the way things look as well. Since we want to try try to compare how well the games look, might as well see if the playing field could be leveled.

THAT is GT6? HA! HAHAHAHAHA

Gran turismo has this problem where it has things that look "too good" I'm not saying that it's got better graphics or that it looks better. Just that it depicts what it shows without the extra flaws that give it the character it needs. The track is basically new pavement, the clouds are light to nonexistant, the grass is all one color, and there's not really a scuff aside from some tire marks.

Forza 5, definitely. Shit could be a clip from a real bumper cam at times.

I was thinking by the sound of the 'bleh' engine note it was also GT6, but if you watch AND listen, the sound is definitely coming from the Forza half of the screen. That being said, GT REALLY needs to step up its sound quality. Sure everyone expects Forza to trump it on looks (it is on a newer, more powerful console), but as long as the game play is good - GT6 will still compare well.

To be completely honest I only have up to GT4 (PS2) and I was just assuming since there were very similar sounds, that it was Gran Turismo's lack of improvement.

I think it should be mentioned that forza 5 is on the newly released Xbox one while gran turismo is only for the playstation 3, so obviously forza is going to look better.

GT 6 is for PS3 only so you can't compare the 2 until the next GT comes out on PS4. So this isn't really worth comparing.

JF90 said it, but he's greyed out, so I'll repeat it anyway. That, and there still seems to be many who assume GT6 is for the PS4. It's not. We're comparing PS3 with XBone here. There's seven years difference between consoles, of course one is going to look better.
Besides, GT6 isn't even out yet. It's possible (likely, even) that the footage is from the GT Academy 2013, not the shipped game.

That's not necessarily the point some might think it is. While it is a cross-gen comparison, the first 2 years or so of games for a console are far from optimized. In effect, this is the very best the PS3 can muster against a handicapped XB1.

I see what you're getting at, and I agree to a point. However, we can do a more apples and apples comparison of "the very best the PS3 can offer" (as well as the X360) with "handicapped" XBone & PS4.
Night-and-day difference, no?
