Anything at all. Your choice. Car? Truck? What's the most Arizona way to get around?
Why do I ask, you say? Because I'm tired of hearing that the best-selling vehicle for nearly every state is the Ford F-Series. I'm more interested in what the best vehicle for the state should be.
Also, if you think the best vehicle for Arizona happens to be the F-Series, then by all means put it down. And as always...

Probably the same one I was driving in Utah, Nevada, Colorado or New/Old Mexico. Seriously though, If I lived in the sunbelt, it would be RWD and stick and thats about all I care about. Also HARDTOP!

If my recent drive across AZ is any indication, the official vehicle of Arizona is the bro truck.
I also saw more Raptors there than anywhere else, though, so there's that.

My 80 Series Land Cruiser seems pretty well adapted to the desert here in AZ.

Hey, how are you recovering? I haven't heard from you in a while? I suspect you aren't doing much cruising these days.

I'd have one of these, and I have a serious reason for picking it:
Back in '09, my family took a trip to Nevada and Arizona. We landed in Vegas at 10:30, and they told us we could pick any midsize SUV in the lot. They had a blue '09 Jeep GC, a couple of base model Honda pilots, and this, a then brand new V6 (yes, a V6 equipped rental car) Highlander. It had about 4,000 miles on the clock when we got it. For a party of 3, it was more than big enough. I fell in love with the sheer space inside, and how comfy it was. On twisty backroads, it had some handling. on route 66, it had good acceleration. The A/C is probably the best I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. It cooled down the car, after it sat in the grand canyon visiting center parking lot for 4 hours , in 5 minutes. it was reading out 116 degrees when we got in!
(our rental car was the beige-on-beige color combo. looks surprisingly nice with the Sedona, AZ red backdrops.

From what I hear, one of these would be appropriate.
If I had a choice...

Probably something like this.... Or any 60s Muscle Car really, simply because our streets here in Europe are too small and have too many corners to really justify one of these.... So this would actually be my choice for my first drive on an US Highway no matter where in the US it is. (Except for anything close to San Francisco, for obvious reasons it had to be a white challenger 440 RT)

The recovery is going well, thanks for asking. I am one of those eternally positive and optimistic people, so I have kept in high spirits throughout, but I would be lying if I said that it hasn't been quite trying. The bone itself, and the surgical incisions (which are surprisingly large) have actually been relatively pain free and the doctors say they are healing very well. The difficulty is that I am getting crippling cramps and muscle spasms in my leg, which are FAR worse than any of the other pain. I am working with the doctors to get those under control and, once I do, I should be in much better shape.
I thought that I was going to get much more Oppo time with this injury, but, to my surprise, I haven't had that much down time. The stuff that I can still do around the house takes me about 10 times longer than it used to, and even the simplest of tasks are completely exhausting. Add that in with visits from friends and family, trying to do at least a little actual work, and the times that I am completely zoned out from my pain medication, and I have surprisingly little time left. I don't even know where the days go sometimes.
You are right, I won't be doing much cruising for a while. I can't drive for at least three months, which is going to be brutal. Once I heal up a little bit more, I think I am going to try to plan a few off road trips with some friends (with them driving me in my cruiser) so that I can get out of the house and get some fresh air.
