As part of their plan to destroy west Kissimmee, the bus service is putting an extra hour between me and my second job. Yeah, that's not gonna fly, so I guess it's time for some wheels.

I'm thinking of buying a POS with a busted engine and rebuilding it. That or a motorcycle. What say you, Jalops?

That's a hard pick... If you have a car already, a bike could be a fun choic for the variety, but if you don't, and you're up to the work, I think getting a beater and fixing it up would be the coolest one.

Saturn. Because cheap. And it will let you save up money for something worthwhile.

Motorcycles are cool too, but I know nothing about your area.

Old Muscle Sedan.

OLD MUSCLE SEDAN.

Seriously, they are probably babied and dirt cheap over there (FL, right?). More importantly, they're easy to fix and the engines (thanks to the resto-mod game) can have almost any component bought right off the shelf with an array of price and quality options, so long as they have a B, RB, LA, SBC, BBC, LT1, Windsor, FE, 385, Cleveland, etc. Plus, all of those are easily upgraded to fuel-injection.

Being OHV, you can actually squeeze 30mpg out of most of those motors without sacrificing power, so long as you know how to drive, gear, and maintain the engine.

You'll be cruising in style too, and probably be able to resell for more than you bought it.

Seriously look at an old Honda CB. They are pretty cheap and will give you more than 40mpg easy, I would be riding one daily if I wasn't in the East Coast.

Kawasaki Ninja 250r. Can be had for sub $3k, gets amazing gas mileage, and is dirt cheap to insure. 5.6 second 0-60 means it's no slouch either.
