Sadly the only place you could ever hear it run was in prequalifying.

1. Purchase BRZ and Boxer12

2. Remove back seats and trunk lining

3. Install Boxer 12 in rear-mid placement

4. ???

5. Hoon!

It is an F1 engine from the 90's. This may surprise you, but a brand new technology, that didn't have the financial backing necessary didn't do so well in F1. It looks awesome, but wasn't that great. I think it lasted a couple races, it was Italian built. I'm going to have to do more research.

I'm sure it did sound good... In pre-qualifying.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I wonder what it would sound like with unequal length headers?

Was run by Coloni-Subaru with no measurable success. IIRC it was heavy, screwed with the aero package and was underpowered. Here is my 30 second info search:

I don't know if I've ever seen video of this in action.

The Jiotto Caspita was not just a concept, but a prototype that was intended to enter production. It started with a Flat 12, then swapped to a Judd V10, but the recession of the early 90's killed it off. Shame, as it looked fairly fabulous.

Staaaaaaaaaaaacks.

Of course, my best pathway to a "would sound glorious" flat twelve to put in something would be to take two continental or Lycoming flat sixes and engage in some machine-shop deviltry:

Depending on how many Subaru's you've owned, it's more of a nightmare, that always comes true.
