"Argent" (argent)

All of that purple yesterday reminded me of a debacle that ocurred earlier this summer. My cousin bought a drag-ready 1998 Z28 Bright Purple Metallic Camaro on his 17th birthday. There were only 481 of this color ordered in '98, probably even fewer that were this well cared for.
Our grandparents very soon realized that they wanted him to live to attend his own graduation, and unfortunately made him sell it. It had under 100k miles, six speed manual, LS1 pushing about 450hp, and was meticulously taken care of and maintained. I understand that it was not the best car for a 17 year-old, but they traded it in to some two-faced dealer...for the pricely sum of $2000. I was so damn mad that day, because I had offered to buy it from my for more than double that just hours earlier, but my parents didn't allow it (keep in mind that I'm 20 and pretty damn responsible, I've had no accidents or tickets in my life, never even been pulled over). I probably could have easily made a couple thousand more bucks by simply flipping it. And the worst part of this story?
They made him get a 2004 Sebring. :(

I know. I'm still in disbelief in how they got rid of it.

I can't say I've seen a purple one in person, not that I remember. Some kid in my town is running around in a SOM SS.
