Lucra (you know, from TGUSA) is coming out with a new car, and I think it's awesome. I just read an article about it on the Yahoo, and checked it out on Lucra's site. The quick and dirty: it's called the L148, it looks like that <— over there, it will cost 260 grand, 700 hp from an LS-something, carbon fiber body. Anyway, I didn't know about it, thought you guys might not either. This has been a public service announcement or something.

Is it Corvette based? I assume it is, there aren't many other targa-top LS sports cars with those proportions. It looks like the retarded offspring of a C7 and a Fisker Karma.

Nope, they're making their own chassis out of moly, which is cool. There's not a ton of info, but it looks like it's pretty much all original.

Also, if you look at a profile shot, the hood is enormous, and the seats are waaaay far back. Can't think of anything else with similar proportions. It's like an SLS, but even more exaggerated.

SLS, Viper, F-Type all have similar proportions. I guess it's cool they are making their own chassis. However, if it is a 2014 model all the info on it should be out by now.

They're shooting to release it next summer. But yeah, the lack of info or photos of a real-life prototype is concerning. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though, just because they're already producing cars.

If they go from where they are now (nothing) to a running prototype by next summer I will be impressed. If it passes the EPA tests and crash tests and meets all federal requirements, I will be very impressed. If it is in production by 2015 I will be amazed.

They currently modify Nobles. They haven't designed a chassis from the ground up and gotten a car past the government. They still aren't using a unique engine, although that is probably a good thing.

$260,000 for a professionally-assembled kit car with a crate engine? CP.

Its like a Fisker Karma that I would actually want to be seen in (not a fan of the Fisker front)

almost perfect proportions from this angle. If they lose the wavy lookin diffuser, slim down that front wheel haunch, and refine that outrageous side exhaust, they'll have themselves a grade A looking coupe.
