So they brought back the GT. Question is should they have done so?
The Shelby GT is back in a big way featuring a host of performance options that allow you to personalize your Shelby and make it the car of your dreams. From Mild to Wild……430 to 624 emissions legal horsepower, this last of the retro style Shelbys offers all that you want. Any 2011 to 2014 Mustang GT V8 can be converted into a Shelby GT or Shelby GT/SC. This is a truly well balanced Shelby starting at a price that you can afford and the possibility to make it a track terror that you can live with every day on the street. - See more at: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
I am a Shelby fan boy and I can say the packages are starting to mix together. Fully specked out the gt/gts/gt 350 are all the same car with same supercharger options. Not complaining either way. Have some more GT now. Tell me what you guys think. It is cheaper but not by much.

I love the look of the hood on the Supersnake and I love the power of the 1000. Decisions, decisions. What's a broke gearhead to do?

Agreed, but I can understand since they are trying to make a modern version of the original Shelby GT.

$15,000? Let me see what I can do to a Mustang for $15,000.
$7,199 for the exact same 525 hp Ford Racing supercharger. I'd spring the $8,099 for the 624 hp one though so that's what I'll use.
$1,439 for a Borla ATAK catback exhaust, to keep it nice and rumbly out back.
$1,399 for a Roush suspension upgrade, which I'm confident is better than whatever Shelby is offering.
$2,300 for Roush 2 piece brake upgrade including calipers and pads.
Ok, so that's $11,838, which leaves enough for your choice of quality wheels and tires.

Even if I had the money I wouldn't buy this Shelby. I like the new Shelbys, but the only one I'd buy is a classic GT350. AS I showed, I can build what I think is a better car for less money.

Yea they really are overpriced. Nothing we can do about that. The other problem, is you have to give them the car for about 6 months.

Yeah fuck that. I could see a week maybe. Unless I get a rental GT500 for free during that time.
Hennessey, Shelby, Lingenfelter ect... all mark up the prices on their name brand "packages" when all they are doing is packaging a few off the shelf parts and selling them to you with badges for a few thousand extra. Most people buy into the marketing, thinking they are getting something engineered by that company.
Roush actually designed and engineered that supercharger, and you can buy it from them through a Ford dealer with a warranty intact. Why bother with Shelby? The guy is dead anyway. These won't be collectible.
Roush engineered that supercharger, and you can but it from them for less than most other places. It is sold by Shelby, Roush, Ford Racing, Lingenfelter, Hennessey and others.
Hennessey makes me feel sick though. He should not be in business.

Well, they're starting to look less ugly than they have, so that's a start, I guess.
