Yeah, I bet. Anything over 40mph is tough. 70mph is loud enough not to hear anything else.
I remember when I first wore a half helmet on a motorbike.. I never did it again without earplugs. On the highway, I turned my head to the side 45-50 degrees to lessen the blast.

Well that must have been anoher reason too, but if you have heard F1 live without earplugs, it hurts. and having the engine right behind you must be the place where it hurts the most. Plus he had other cars passing through.

Oh yeah, and that too.
My old motorbike had straight pipes, and that was the other reason I wore them.

Hard on the eyes too, I've ridden a motorcycle at 140 with no eye protection and it stings.
