The Mazda Miata looks good. It is not an unattractive car. However, The Mazda B engine, especially in the NA, is exceedingly ugly sitting in that engine bay (though the MZR is not). What other photogenic cars have ugly blocks?
NOTE: I'm not talking about ugly engine covers or plastic sheets over the blocks. I'm talking about engines that, when cast, simply had terrible proportions or an ugly block, ones that couldn't be fixed by removing the cover. Even a Miata engine can be made to look beautiful with mods:
...but stock, not so much.

Those look like 6UL's on that NB. I've just recently discovered this wheel, sounds like an awesome crossroads of light weight, affordability, and good looks. I'd highly consider a set if I were to ever convert to 15".

The Camry/Avalon/ES300
Awesome cars, but the 1MZ just isn't all that cute. And I fucking hate the impossible-to-access rear bank, which I call the "Swiss Bank", and once you do get back there, there's this huge wart mustache sitting on top of the rear valve cover called the engine harness, and good luck finding the clips to undo it!

agreed. and the ugliness reaches beyond the looks. it is a torquey engine, and a reliable workhorse, but coming into my miata from my previous vtec hondas this engine just doesnt sing as sweet or make power up at redline like my civic/accord. I know its impossible, but I think a B16 swap in my miata would be epic.

The car is beautiful, the engine is great. But the engine looks...bad. Imo. lol sry.
